In a move reminiscent of Hublot’s acquisition of BNB Concept, Corum has acquired key members of Les Artisans Horlogers, a movement specialist that filed for bankruptcy in January 2011. We all know that in 1969, Heuer launched three watches using their caliber 11, self-winding chronograph: the Carrera, Monaco, and Autavia. In the very earliest of advertisements for these advanced watches, they appeared with a few unique traits, and all lacked any model name on the dial. The thing is, Heuer enthusiasts never knew if these watches actually existed, if they were simple drawings for the sake of advertising, or if they were prototypes long since destroyed. I have a steel 5712 and I love it. I was offered a blue 5711 which I like a lot, but keeps me wondering if it makes any sense to own two quite similar Pateks. What do you think?
