Baume et Mercier 10093 wrist watches news:
Hey guys,I had planned on getting an expensive watch for my birthday but the call of a grail and the fact that nothing was thrilling me (especially in my budget) made me decide to hold off...for a week. Then I happened on a thread about the Bombfrog, a 44mm, tritium, PVD hunk of awesomeness with the coolest logo...all for under $400. I was in want. Bradystraps was out so I found one available through the German company and a short (ok loooooong...who likes to wait) month later it was in my hot hands...So without further ado....Came in a nice little box with pillow...A quick shot using the glare from the TV (Ravens beating the Browns)A couple outside today...And a wrist shot....And my girls thought the logo was so cool they wanted T-shirts....:)So my impressions...Out of the box I was surprised at how plain the face looked but it quickly grew on me as simple and clean. The PVD is great looking and the size is balanced nicely by a relatively thin profile. Others have complained about
Had a chance to meet with Adam (member GLADIATOR) and Susan today to talk watches and grab a bite to eat. He really loves pre-1940's watches, and I brought along a few 50's and 60's Longines.*ATTENTION ALL VINTAGE COLLECTORS: please procure a bib before reading any further.*I'll start with a couple horologically significant pieces - the first being his Harwood bumper:What an amazing watch - and from the late 20's! This watch is featured in the Horology 101 installment "The History of Self Winding Watches" since it's the first automatic wrist watch ever produced. Next is a brand that has a full rotor auto, and a very efficient one at that:What a pity British horology fell by the wayside. Hey, had to sneak in a wrist shot, right? This is actually the first watch he showed me, and is equally interesting - a Peseux Jump hour from the mid-30's:Next is the watch Adam was wearing:The case was very cool, but I'll let Adam tell the story when he gets a chance.Of course he had a sterling
Going though some old pics on my servers and found this one i took...
Between Rolex and Tudor, I actually go with Black Bay 58 39mm as my favourite. Second place, redesign DSSD with 3235 movement and wider bracelet.Third, the Tudor Black Bay GMT.
Has anyone brushed their SS DJ41 bracelet? I'm wondering how the polished case would look with a brushed bracelet.
