Bedat & Co 228.051.909 wrist watches news:
For 2013,?MB&F announces this new limited edition version of the Horological Machine No 5 (HM5) watch in 18k red gold. watches-dealer reviewed the MB&F HM5 watch here when it first became available in 2012. This fifth edition of the Horological Machine legacy is inspired by driving watches (and cars) from mostly the 1970s. The wedge-shaped case displays the time on the side, visible through a sapphire crystal prism that magnifies the hour and minute indicator discs for increased legibility. Originally in all zirconium (similar to titanium) this new HM5 RT version comes in a case using parts made from 18k red gold as well as titanium. For a longer discussion on the HM in terms of both inspiration and technical features, please reference the above review article. We will primarily focus on the details of this particular HM5 RT "On The Road Again" model. The wedge-shaped case happens to look good using mixed color parts, and the colored frame around where you read the time has been
Each year at the Baselworld watch and jewelry show the most anticipated news is what behemoth watch brand Rolex will release. This is a quizzical thing because what Rolex announces is often anything but revolutionary. Still the successful and closed watch brand seems to excite their loyalists with the new creations each year - often times small steps in anticipated directions. Rarely does Rolex offer something totally new - especially a new model or complication. Oddly enough - both of these things happened for 2012.Rolex typically releases mere line extensions and small features updates (if that). Typical "exciting" announcements include new dial colors, perhaps a new strap, or something offered in a new material. The major new release for 2012 is the Rolex Sky-Dweller, an extremely rare new Rolex model, with a new movement, and with a never before seen complication for the modern brand. Say hello to an annual calendar. Rolex sure didn't invent it, but it seems revolutionary when incl
The Phillips Geneva Watch Auction Two has just concluded and we’re here to bring you our analysis of the sale. The auction resulted in 95% of lots being sold and brought in a total of 27,844,575 CHF (which is about the same in U.S. Dollars) versus a pre-sale estimate of 13.7 million to 24.8 million CHF. Let’s take a look at some of the most interesting results of the sale. 1 OF 20 Phillips' Geneva Watch Auction Two Lot 112 – F.P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain, platinum, 1999: 269,000 CHFAs far as I know, this is the only “Souscription” Journe to ever come up at auction. As such there was no precedence for where this watch, the ninth watch made by F.P. Journe since launching Montres Journe, would sell. The result was quite strong, but not that surprising given just how important this watch is, and how hot Journe is right now. 2 OF 20 Lot 112 ¨C F.P. I've been looking at the Tavannes Ocean Edge Quartz (USD $795) and just today the Delma Santiago Quartz ($660). I've heard way more about Tavannes. Actually, I haven't ever heard of Delma besides on another forum a while back. A Rolex dealer/jeweler in town has even recommended Tavannes over TAG. BUT others on another forum have called me a fool for even considering spending $795 on a Swiss Quartz.Opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks. Just today as I was minding my own beeswax I stumble into what is one of my real grail watches. And, I can (somewhat) afford it. I mean, I don't mind spending $2000 a year on watch-related krap. And I'm getting ready to do it again with my up-coming trip to NYC. Now, when I use the term 'grail' I mean something that I would love to have and could maybe even afford - but I probably won't put out that sort of money - even if I had it. Sure, there are a ton of watches in the $30,000 +++ category that I wouldn't mind wearing. But I wouldn't buy them even if I could. I mean, I've got other things I like, too. Now, if I spend more than $2000 ON A WATCH, I not only start to feel guilt, I also will get 'heat' from the little lady. She has no such obsessions. Oh, she wouldn't prevent it; we don't have that sort of relationship. But she wouldn't 'dig' it. It means piling up bills on the card, and we just cleaned the cards up. And we have two vacations this year.SO WHAT SORT OF ADDICT
