When Jean-Fr¨¦d¨¦ric Dufour took the reigns at Zenith in 2009, he shifted the brand away from over-the-top styling with a “back to basics” message and an emphasis on product. Speaking with WatchTime’s Norma Buchanan for her profile Inside Guy in the December issue, Dufour said “I will devote all my energy, all my money, to El Primero, to make Zenith different from the others.” True to his word, Zenith launches the El Primero Tourbillon. Zenith emphasizes this new piece it is not simply a tourbillon. Beyond that difficult-to-achieve complication, it is of course a chronograph, with a unique calendar display, in which the signature 36,000 vph frequency is retained, making it the only high-frequency tourbillon on the market today.The dial’s asymmetric aesthetic highlights the tourbillon¡¯s mechanism, visible through an opening in the dial, while maintaining the overall proportions and lines. Ya gotta start sometime, so here's the first
Rolex, that is. After a 2.5 hour breakdown of the UPS truck, plus a driver that was unfamiliar with the route, the Explorer II Black Dial finally appeared at the door. Now, this was 6:15 PM last night, local time, and is characteristic of the way things go for me. M07xxxx S/N with 3186 movement.So here tis, the adequate, at best, shots, but until I get a close up lens, these'll have to do. Quite pleased with it, so far. Only downside is the cyclops. Outside, the specular highlights reflecting off the cyclops from the AZ sun make the date window very difficult to read.

Movement Sizes?
FOLKS: Have created this thread from the discussion of movement sizes initiated in the Rutledge thread.Been into this vintage watch thang for 18 months now - but never understood what size of movement is what - and why.Was there some sort of convention decided by someone sometime?Just looking at the numbers (6/0 etc) - what do they tell one?

Gone to the Dark Side
After swearing off digital watches and becoming a general watch snob, and then saying I wasn't going to buy any more I went and got two of these...I had a coupon so they were $70 a piece- one for me and one for my son.Bye-bye Longines and Omega hello Casio! I had to do something to get me away from wearing that dang Longines...I just couldn't ever take it off...now this thing I bought...well it's huge and it's freakin' awesome, gadgets galore and hopefully tough as a G-Shock (or close)...its spent the last few weeks hunting and branding cattle. Yes the compass and altimeter work great too...sooo I'm back to a basic digital...for now.

Do your AD's staff wear Rolex in the store?
I only visit two AD's, both local.But I have only seen staff wearing a Rolex on one occasion, and she was wearing an older reference Air-King.Just curious, do the staff at your AD's wear Rolex watches in the store?Thanks.
