Blancpain 6885-1542-55 wrist watches news:
Prices are a funny thing. We often don't understand why we pay what we do, nor do we often understand why some places can or do charge more for the same goods. In the retail goods market, there is such a thing as the MSRP, or manufacturer's suggested retail price. I have no idea where this price comes from. The best I can understand, there is a secret smokey room meeting where such numbers are obtained. MSRP prices attempt to combine the cost of production along with design, marketing, administrative costs, distribution, and of course profit. The profit margin on an MSRP is rather thick. Not only because the manufacturer need to make a profit, but so does everyone in between. This involves at least one other party, which is the retailer. Hi,I'm on the verge of buying a BNIB JLC RDM in SS from an AD.However, on speaking to another AD (who also deals in JLC but not the AD I'm considering buying off)He said that JLC are excellent, beautifully made time pieces, However! He also went onto say that in his experience it is very common for a new JLC to be returned to the factory for repair / tuning at least once a year!!! as they are very temperamental and even unreliable!!!This is coming from a man who (so far as he knows) could have tried to sell me one, so it's no as if he was trying to turn me off JLC because he didn't sell them! This concerns me greatly, after all it would be the most I'd ever spent on a watch and I can't be doing with it being temperamental and buggering about returning it on a regular basis!Surely this can't be true? Not for such a prestigious brand and for a watch with a RRP of ¡ê3,890 gbp!!!He reckoned that he sold a fair few JLC's and almost always had to return them for warranty work! Can anyone reassu
