Marc Michel-Amadry has been named as managing director of Sotheby¡¯s Switzerland. Mr Michel-Amadry will divide his time between Sotheby¡¯s Zurich and Geneva. Sotheby’s said the re-establishment of a pan-Swiss management structure reflects the growing importance of the company’s business in Switzerland and will enhance its ability to provide client services. Michel-Amadry joins Sotheby¡¯s from his position as President and Creative Director of Ebel and Concord, two brands at Movado Group Inc. He began his career at TAG Heuer, where he gained international experience working in Singapore managing the marketing of the brand for the Southeast Asia region. Hello to everybody !I would like to bring to focus your attention on the results of a long analytical work done by the team of SPEEDMASTER.IT concerning the Speedmaster worn by Buzz Aldrin during the historic mission XI known to be the first chronograph used on lunar surface, lost in 1971 and attributed to a reference 145.012.Inspired by the 2003 pretended finding of this exemplar we have developed a careful analysis of both the documentation and the photographs of the time, assuming a different reference number and actually turn the tide of convictions currently prevailing on the web. A result of a patient work of historical research, of the use of new and innovative tools for image processing, but especially -allow me- of stubbornness, passion and contribution mainly of Gino Balbi, Simone Sgreccia and myself. Hoping to read your contribution to the development of the subject I specify the link of the document: speedmaster.it/index.asp?sezione=29.and now "fasten your sit belts" and g

Anyone else get invited to the Patek golf outing at Torrey Pines? Got invited by my AD and wanted to see if anyone else from the forum is going as well. Should be fun!
Hello everyone. Total newbie here. I haven't even purchased my first Rolex yet. But, I've been researching quite a bit. I saw the abbreviations thread (thanks for that). But I'm trying to understand the Rolex numbering scheme.Anyone have a Rolex primer on what pattern is used in the numbering system? In my research, I really like the Stainless Steel DateJust 41, Oyster, Rhodium or Silver face, Smooth Bessel. It seems like a well rounded first Rolex that can fit as an every day wearer that can be more casual or formal. I've found it as low as 6100 on Truefacet (but usually closer to 6400) and as high as the list 7350 at the local AD. But when you add 10% sales tax, it is difficult to pay a 20% premium just to buy it locally.I'd love any and all advice or direction. Any really obvious pitfalls I'm overlooking?
