Blancpain 6185-1546-55 wrist watches news:
My AD called today and asked about a DJ they received with two letters missing from the printing on the dial. I advised them to return it to Rolex for a replacement. Even though these seem to be collectable they really are not. Rolex would change the dial as soon as they saw it so you could never have it serviced. Plus, I have never seen a 'mistake' sold, always returned for a correct model. So with all the QC at Rolex mistakes can slip by. I do remember one with a missing word a few years back and it was returned quickly. =) maverick
Anyone have a favorite watch magazine? I have a few favorites, but have become a big fan of 'Revolution' magazine. It has a great mix of technical, business, culture, lifestyle, and personality stories associated with watches...all tied together with great pics and some humor. Recently, they did a great piece on Rolex - both the history and an inside tour story by the magazine's founder, Wei Koh. I recommend it to anyone who has not checked it out. Another good magazine is 00/24, although it is very hard to find in the US. They used to carry it at B&N but no more. I communicated by email with their subscription department in the Netherlands but was unable to coordinate with the currency exchange and all. Anyone know how to get it here? Thanks.-Ross
Here¡¯s a tasty piece of Gruen bling. Nice chunky hooded lugs, an OK dial, all motivated by my favorite Gruen 335 movement. The only this missing in my book is the USA stamp on the plates. This one says Unadjusted so I¡¯m assuming it was born in Switzerland. Very same movement that was made in Cincinnati.Next is a tiny Elgin with a grade 554 movement. Style wise it looks like a cousin of my Waterproof Sportwatch.Which leaves the 554 unexplained since it didn¡¯t show up until years later. I¡¯m thinking it should be sporting a 519 or maybe a 524 from the 20¡¯s. Maybe Doug has seen this one in his ad searches.Joel
When this Eco-Drive Infusion arrived, it didn't do much for me, and I thought it was because of the black resin band. Boy was I right! I picked up this extremely inexpensive NATO style band, and it gives it a whole new look. I think this is a NATO style band, but I don't really know the difference between NATO bands and ZULU bands. I didn't take any photos with the original band, but they can be seen in my other threads asking for advice about a strap/band.I have another strap on the way that is just like this one, except it is has red stripes instead of gray. I'm interested to see how that looks.IMG_9490.jpg
Glad i listened to wait for the Blue replies to my other thread! Thank you to everyone who chimed in!I finally got it today! And the wrist shot!Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
