My New Steinhart Triton 30 ATM Has Arrived
I ordered it last Thursday and received it late yesterday. Excellent service from Gnomonwatches in Singapore.Some initial comments:Styling is quite unlike anything else I've seen. Quality of fit and finish are outstanding, as is typical of Steinhart. For me ( 7 1/4 inch wrist ) the watch wears large at 45mm by 56 mm, and I am already at the last position on the strap.The strap itself is 24mm wide and 4mm thick and quite stiff as it comes new. The bracelet ( sold separately ) will be along in a day or two so I'll follow up with photos when it is fitted. The 31.5mm diameter, flat crystal is slightly above the height of the bezel, and the bezel itself is the same finished stainless steel as the case, and completely flat. So the susceptibility to bezel scratching is somewhat increased.For me the overall look is one of understated elegance. I see myself wearing this watch in most any situation. No doubt different straps/bracelets will give it different looks.If you have any further question

At what point did watch collectors,accumulators,and appreciators become so obsessed with accuracy??There is alot of talk on the WTF and other fora of a newfound appreciation of vintage timepieces.Even though they are not very accurate by the "accuracy-holics" (or even COSC) standards they are appreciated.Many fail to remember that even when these vintage pieces were new (and I am talking autos,mechanicals, electrics, and tuning forks) they failed to keep the accuracy standards that many today seem to find important.Not so long ago it was fine to enjoy your timepieces of choice and set it ,every so often, when you found it to be off by a few minutes. (How did we even know??)All of a sudden we are all so time oriented that a few seconds a day is a major issue!!What's the deal??I like , more and more,the dial designs of Panerai,Glycine and my Hamilton Brookethat don't bother me with chapter rings.How often do we ask the question " you mean these things tell time??"as we measure the accura
