I took this pic in Copenhagen this Saturday:
Well, this is a "delayed" new arrival as it got here about 3 weeks ago (Right around my second kid was born), so not until now, I have had the chance the take the watch out of its box and take some "quick & dirty" pics of it. Anyway, here it goes.....If anyone is pro-efficient in Japanese, would love to know what the back of the bracelet tag actually reads:Some quick specs....Movement: Eco-Drive H610 Radio Controlled with Perfex Multi 3000 (JS-1 Anti magnetic to 4,800 m/s)Atomic clock radio bands: 5 band sync support for USA, Japan, Europe (Germany) and ChinaPower reserve: 4 years in full power reserve mode.Glass: Sapphire crystal with AR coating (Appears to be dual AR)Features: World time for 26 major cities (Plus UTC), automatic DST settings for each time zone, perpetual calendar, 12 hour alarm, 1/5 sec 60 minute chronographWater resist: 100m or 10 barCase and bracelet: Titanium coated with DuractectWeight: 107g with all links in placeClasp: fold over "Scissor" style with "on the
I thought I preferred my Oris Williams F1 on the rubber strap, but the reality was that I simply wasn't wearing it as often as my bracelet watches. So, I had the bracelet reinstalled. Of course, I had to jump into the light box once I did it:The downside is that the bracelet scratches pretty easily. I took it to my jeweler so she could buff it up before reinstalling it, and she read me the riot act for allowing it to get as scratched up as it did when I had it on the watch the first time around. All in all, I think I'll enjoy wearing it this way for a while. So, what's your take? Are you partial to bracelets or straps? If you like straps, rubber or leather (or some other material)?Just wondrin' and, besides, I wanted an excuse to post some new pics...
As some of you remember, I attended a Swiss Watch Event at a local AD last fall. The manager was gracious enough to allow me to spend a couple of hours comparing the Rolex Deep Sea, all the PO models, and the PloProf.I had admired that PO since its introduction in 2005 but could never decide on a configuration; 42 or 45.5, black/orange bezel, red/white numerals. It did not take me long to decide that the Deep Sea was not for me. I am big on comfort and the DSSD seemed unbalanced due to the heavy head and light bracelet. The smooth caseback let it slip from side to side on my round wrist.Focusing then on the Planet Ocean, I decided that I preferred the 45.5 with black bezel and red numerals for a bit of color. The watch was much more stylish and nicely finished than the DSSD but still tended to slip from side to side. Certainly a snug fit is achievable by adjusting the links but my wrist contracts and expands during the day. An all day fit would be close to impossible. That left the
