Breguet Breguet 31971 wrist watches news:
I bought mine new in Rose gold. I paid full retail. I had my shirts made with a "watch length" left sleave and peaople used to compliment the watch. When the time came for a new leather band the sticker shock was high, almost $300. There is no way around it and the Omega dealers are few and far between. The watch is handsome but very heavy. I am rough on things and if you knock around in it, the 18k gold scratches fairly easily. I sold it on Ebay for $3000 +/- I miss the watch from time to time.
As of late I have been strongly considering the sale or trade of my PAM 000 in hopes of purchasing a more complicated Panerai. I have my heart set on either the 111 or the 088 (also very open to model suggestions). Any owners of these two (or other sub 8k) pieces that care to share their ownership experience relative to a base model Panerai? what to look for, what to be careful of etc...just looking for a bit of support on the idea of spending the extra dough being worth it I guess?Edited, pls. post in sales forum Thanks
Since completing the TimeZone courses, I have tinkered on a few watches, including manual wind Benrus wrist watches and a 7750. This was my first pocket watch overhaul and the first without using any diagrams. Fortunately, this watch has fewer than 50 parts which helped with taking the guesswork out of reassembly.I have more images and the description of the experience at minus4plus6/pocket.htm Take a gander.-Sheldon
Just came back from Chicago and checked out some Tags at Water Tower Place yesterday. One store had a whole case full of various new Aquaracers and F1s, plus another 2 cases of the Carreras and the other lines. Tried on quite a few different ones and had a great time checking out the new models.Considering the state of the economy it was interesting that all the sales lady can tell me was "we had a 10% off sale last week, maybe I can convince my manager to extend the pricing for you". I immediately had a wide grin on my face (actually I almost broke out laughing). The sales lady probably thought she made my day, never realized that I almost told her "You've got to be kidding". I know that times cannot be worse than here in the Detroit area but, I did not realize they were doing that great in Chicago.
Finally back from Omega.
