Calling all Titanium experts
Hey Gals and GuysDo you recall a time, not too long ago when Titanium was all the rage. There was the Apple Powerbook in Titanium. Indeed I still have one though its' hinges are a little worse for wear and it has long since been mothballed. We had titanium models in the Seamaster range of course. There was a Ti SMP diver and the Ti chronos and the X-33 is in titanium as well. Expensive of course but Titanium offers a superior strength to weight ratio in metals and is inert so anyone allergic to nickel would be able to wear Ti bracelets for instance.However you see very few examples of it in watches these days. This is probably associated with cost but I recall a dealer once advising me that Ti scratches easily. Armed with this knowledge, I thus make my Ti Seiko my beater of course I can barely see a scratch on it unless I look really hard by which time all that staring has made my eyes sore. High-end, less-prestigious, or low-end, more prestigious?
Where do you guys/gals stand? If you had the choice between a "top-of-the-line" model of a less-prestigious, but decent watchmaker (let's say Tissot), or a "lower-end" model of a more-prestigious brand (let's say Longines), which would you choose? Let's say all things are relatively equalfor example they have similar movements, ages, and you like both designs equally: Which way to go?I am in that buying range where this question arises often for me (the sort of $500-$1000 range), and just wonder how others think about this. First post - New 2017 Black GMTII - Xmas present
Hi All,I'd been after a new Rolex GMT II for sometime, I had passed through Heathrow a few times and only ever seen a SS/Gold GMT II in stock. I was really hankering after a SS black or the black/blue BLNR GMT II but only recently started to pursue it with any real anger. I thought I'd try and get a BLNR model first but these are proving very hard to obtain (I called a few contacts in Switzerland, Germany, Turkey (as I knew of the acute shortage in the UK) without luck. I didn't want to go to grey market and pay a premium (and take a risk of getting issues post sale) so decided to 3 days before Xmas (rather ambitiously) look for a SS model.I went to nearly every Rolex dealer in Central London in person (after first trying my local AD's) and as you can imagine was pleasantly smiled at but told that any SS sport model watch is in high demand and stocks are very low or order books closed with long waiting lists and a potential price rise due in 2018.I did manage to find 2 AD's with a SS/G

Need some help on my first Pepsi..
Hello people,I am looking to buy a GMT Pepsi and I found one that might be interesting for me. Its a 2003 model with box and papers. I do not have experience on buying watches online and I can use a little bit of help. If you have any tips for me on questions that are normal to make to a dealer please comment. Can I ask for pictures of the papers for example? Or is it ok to ask for a picture of the reference number between the lugs? I¡äll share you the pictures.. What do you think? Thank you for your help!
