Japanese Miyota Targets Swiss ETA With Caliber 9000 Series Watch Movements
For about 10 years ETA has been threatening to stop supplying third-party (outside the Swatch Group) watch brands with movement kits. The horological drama has been high, with the Swiss government weighing in several times, and ETA seemingly going back and forth with what they are going to do. Before Nicolas Hayek died, the latest was that ETA would no longer be supplying (ebauches) movement kits to third party watch brands, but they could get assembled kits. There were rumors that he actually would be giving kits to select outside Swatch Groups brands that he hand picked. Then he died, and now it isn't clear who will get ETA movements and how. Whatever the fact may be for the next few years, watch brands that used to rely on ETA movements have been looking elsewhere for alternatives. This is because completed movement kits from ETA would be much more expensive and much harder to get.One place many have looked to is Japan. New band for a vintage Zodiac Sea Wolf ?
New to the site, I've spend some time doing various searches and I'm amazed at the wealth of knowledge available here.The one question I couldn't find an answer to has to do with the band for my Zodiac Sea Wolf.It's been sitting peacefully in a box in my drawer for years. Circa 1950's, excellent shape except for a cracked crystal and long missing band.Decided it's time to start wearing it again. It's at the jewelers getting a new crystal cut but I need to find a band. I realize I'll never find an original, that's OK, I'm not a collector and I plan on making it one of my daily wears so a quality after market band will do fine.I'd like something as close to the original as possible.Can anyone help me with a make and model ??If it's not against the rules, a source to purchase it would be helpful as well.Thanks

I'm trying, but I simply can'tI'm behind that Seamaster, and I told myself that I will stop buying $100 to$300 watches, but simply can't...I'm sick, really, as I spend around $600 each month on watches, each particulary nice, but no higher-end with the exception of my Speedy Broad Arrow, that was bought with a bonus from a job well doneno saving at allWhat can I do? I know this is the worst place to ask for advice on "stop buying" but what can I do???How can you control yourselves about this?

Recommend 3rd AP? To 15305,15707
Ok need to scratch another itch. I have the 15305OR and 15707CE. I wear the 15305 to work and evening outings. The 15707 is great for casual days with the kids, car events, sports outings etc. So I'm looking for a 3rd AP that could do a little of both, but a bit sporty. I'm thinking something in stainless steel or a combination with RG. Needs to be 42mm or less. Leaning towards a ROO?Sent from my Zeitwerk
