At SIHH 2015, Cartier’s headliner launch was the Cl¨¦ de Cartier collection, an entirely new family of timepieces whose case design incorporated a key-operated winding crown (Cl¨¦ is French for “key”). Today at SIHH 2016, Cartier unveiled the first skeletonized watch in that collection, which also features Cartier’s first-ever skeletonized automatic movement made in-house.The movement in the Cartier Cl¨¦ de Cartier Automatic Skeleton (price to be revealed at SIHH) is Cartier’s brand-new Caliber 9612 MC, whose openworked architecture showcases bridges in the shape of Roman numerals III, VI, IX, and XII (marking the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock hour positions, respectively) ¡ª a motif that Cartier has used previously in skeletonized versions of its Santos-Dumont, Tank MC, and Astrotourbillon Skeleton watches, the last utilizing only the VI and XII numerals. The movement - that you should be able to say - is engraved by hand with floral designs. You see just part of it through the partially squelettisé dial, but the entire movement is decorated with this style. In addition, luxurious Chopard uses 18 gold k for main movement plates.

Elgin Shockmaster
Recent acquisition. Very interesting dial Stamping on rotor is "Elgin 643 Swiss Seventeen 17 Jewels" no other numbers on movement. Case back stamped Star watch company with 1517 below Star. Serial case number is T442799. Any help with ID?

Need advice about ROC
I just purchased a ROC 26320 steel with silver dial. I love the watch, it is my favorite at the moment in my collection and is my first chronograph watch ever. I am a little irritated by the fact that the seconds hand on normal watches is the chronograph seconds hand function on the AP. So unless I have the chronograph running the large seconds hand does not move and sits either where ever I stopped it or at the 12oclock position. What do you guys do about this, did you just get used to the seconds hand not moving? Do you just allow the chronograph to constantly run so that the large seconds hand is moving? Is this how all chronograph watches function? Please advise!
