Breitling a71340LA/a687-ss wrist watches news:
On September 22, HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco will preside over the fourth Only Watch auction of exceptional watches. The proceeds of this event, organized by Antiquorum Auctioneers, will be used to fund research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy. To support this worthy cause, Richard Mille has contributed a unique and symbolic watch to be offered during this charity auction. Launched in 2005 by Luc Pettavino, President of the Monegasque Association Against Muscular Dystrophies, Only Watch mobilizes the world¡¯s most prestigious watchmakers who donate unique and limited pieces to be auctioned during the Monaco Yacht Show. All proceeds are used to fund research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy, an extremely debilitating neuromuscular disease that affects one boy in every 3500.Having supported Only Watch from the beginning, Richard Mille wanted to donate one of its most emblematic creations to Only Watch 2011: the RM 027 tourbillon developed for and in collaboration with Rafael Nadal. Today I visited the relatively new Omega Boutique in Chicago, on N. Michigan Ave (at the Westin). My intent was to examine and try on the 4 Museum watches in the current collection. A very nice store, and I spoke to a very nice and helpful sales assistant. She was sporting a 42mm Seamaster model by the way! Here's one of the store displays...They frowned upon photos within the store, but didn't mind photography of the actual watches, thankfully. The lighting, unfortunately, was not the best. The gorgeous pieces in question are these (photos from Omega's website):1938 Chronograph with Pulsometer (516.53.39.50.09.001)1941 Chronograph (516.53.38.50.01.001)1949 Chronograph (516.53.39.50.02.001)1952 Square (Cosmic case) (5705.30.01)And in the store...All were heavy, with their gold cases, and this one (my favorite) with the articulated lugs was huge, sprawling on the wrist:The 1938 has a gorgeous porcelain dial and Breguet hands:I'm afraid the contrasting white and pink areas of the case do n
After reading a bunch of Hamilton posts, I jumped in and bought an eBay Thin-o-Matic. It's running about 6 minutes fast per day, so I thought I'd open the watch and adjust it. From what I've read, I buy a crystal puller and pull the crystal. I'm a quartz watch guy and this seems to violate all laws of nature. Then the stem gets pulled with some careful, controlled "oomph" and the face is free. From there, I can access the back of the mechanism and slow things down.Could someone please confirm the order of operations?I'd love to share my fears, thoughts, and details about watch and purchase (paid $200) but don't want to be a needy newbie. Lemme know if you're interested.Best regards, Scott03.jpg 01.jpg 02.jpg
Hi there,I haven't had much time to visit the Forum lately and just wanted to say hi :-)Because half of the staff was on holidays but work didn't slow down, I had to set my priorities. Since most of my colleagues will be back on Monday, I hope I have a bit more spare time to keep up with the posts here.Kind regards,Cinq
I am getting more familiar with the differences between the serial numbers on the 16610lv kermit and understand that the Y and F series have the Mk 1 dials with the oval O and 5 ticks as well as the Flat four bezels. My question is did all of the F series watches have the oval O and flat four or were these only the earlier ones and the later ones had the regular O and the pointed 4.
