On September 22nd, the Chopard Group (which includes Chopard, the watch and jewelry maison, as well as Fleurier Ebauches, SA, the movement manufacturer) announced the very first timepiece from La Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud. La Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud is a new business for the Group – it was first announced in 2013, and its first wristwatch represents what co-presidents Karl-Friedrich Scheufele and Caroline Scheufele (brother and sister) hope will be the first in a series of wristwatches inspired by the life and work of Ferdinand Berthoud. I had bought a Perpetual Calender watch when I graduated high school in 1988.I had paid about $300 at Nordstoms and was looking for some help finding a similar watch today.When you search for perpetual calendar watches, the overwhelming result are $30,000+ Palek Philippe watches.Can anyone point me in the direction of an affordable perpetual calender watch that would have been available at Nordstroms in the late 1980's, early 1990's?I had found a picture of a Timex, but wondering if there were other manufactures offering watches in the price range of a high school student with a great summer job in 1988?Here is the Timex I found, and I remember the calender was around the bezel, under the glass.
