Cartier W7100060 wrist watches news:
I had been thinking that the blue HydroConquest would be my next new Longines. I had written off the HC for a while based solely on the pictures on their web site (longines/watches/longines-hydroconquest), they just didn't sing to me. But then I saw a few "live" pictures and they looked great! It brought them onto my radar. Especially after I saw Alton's new white HC! Stunning!!I already have a white faced diver (although not a Longines), and wanted a blue diver so thought the blue HC will be the one. But I tried one on today, and I was a little disappointed in the colour. The watch itself was fabulous, but I had been hoping that the blue would be a little brighter in the flesh, more like the blue of the Omega SMP.So, I don't need a white faced diver, I don't think I want the blue HC, so I need to think what my next one will be!I will keep trying on the blue, just to see if it grows on me. Perhaps it was just the light in that shop. Yeah, that's probably it!
So, being new to the Washington Puget Sound region, my wife and I decided to spend a couple hours seeing the area yesterday. Now, we could have opted to take the car, but that's not really what we were up for given we did a 4300 mile road trip to move here in June (links to pics below). Enjoyable, but hardly the way to "pack the max into the least time".We could have opted to take the new Yamaha FJR1300, too. But worse then the car, the bike encourages you to slow down and enjoy the scenery you are in, though you do tend to find funner places to tour through. :)Instead, we took a...........That's right!A deHavilland Beaver. :)In getting ready for the day, I tried to think of which watch would be the best fit for the day. I knew immediately it was the Luminox. The day dawned cloudy and damp. With rain in the forecast, we were initially concerned that our flight might be canceled later in the day. That worry turned out to be moot. As the pics show, we had very good weather.Took off
About a year or more ago, I was mooching around the various new and second hand dealers in the Bond Street area and ¨C for the first time ¨C I tried on a Patek Nautilus 5711¡ a watch that I¡¯d admired from afar but never actually handled or worn myself. There was no doubt that the finish was exquisite, but for some reason I couldn¡¯t quite to get to grips with the case shape (or, rather, the hinged non-crown side). It did teach me one thing, if nothing else, though; sometimes, the only way you can appreciate the wonderful craftsmanship that goes into many of the higher-end watches is to actually pick them up, wear them and scrutinise them properly. I¡¯m not saying that you¡¯ll then be able to see where the ¡°value¡± is because we all know that luxury products don¡¯t work that way, but what I am saying is that photos alone will never do them justice. I mulled and mulled over the Nautilus, but deep down I knew it wasn¡¯t calling to me like it needed to. Around the time that I realised I wouldn¡¯t b
Good morning AllWent up to my parents due to an extremely unfortunate death in our family. While at my parents for dinner my dad gave this 1961 (?) Omega Seamaster. It originally belonged to his grandfather. As you can see it was for 40 years of service at his company. It runs, not sure how well it keeps time yet. But, I'd like to get it restored as well as possible while keeping it original. I have zero motivation to ever sell it, even if it was worth a lot (quick google search says it's not worth much anyway)Any help on exact model or whom may do work on vintage Omegas is appreciated. ThanksHard to see, but on the back it says:Presented to J.C. Wright in recognition of 40 years of service. The white motor company 1961. Also says waterproof and Seamaster Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
