Not long ago, I received the news that the major watch enthusiast forum Watchuseekwatches-dealer was sold. This was big news, and I immediately wanted to speak with Watchuseek founder and admin extraordinaire Ernie Romers, who in a few weeks, would no longer have any association with his former creation and in some ways his "child." I've always considered Ernie to be "one of the good guys" in the watch industry. I first met him several years ago - probably at Baselworld in Switzerland - and was struck by his humility and gentle nature. This wasn't who many might consider to have fit the role of the person in charge of the largest and most dynamic watch lover community on the internet. Then again, after you think about it, Romers' personality fit the role perfectly. Patient and a natural diplomat, who else would be better suited to managing the complicated issues and personalities that exist not only when sitting between watch brands and consumers, but also between passionate watch love

G. Gerlach ORP Orzel 85A Review
When we first mentioned G. Gerlach a couple of years ago it was because it seemed like a neat novelty for a brand to manufacturing watches in Poland. The first watch of theirs we reviewed, the Otago, was cool, but it had a lot of room for improvement. Well, since then we've reviewed the awesome automotive Lux-Sport and the stylish vintage-inspired Navigator. Both showed great improvement from the brand and that they weren't just a novelty. Rather, they quickly established themselves as a serious brand to keep in mind for quality affordable watches. The fact that they make them in Poland, totally bucking industry trends, is just a feather in their cap.Today we're going to look at the ORP Orzel 85A, a spiritual follow up to their first watches, the ORP Dzik and the ORP Sokol. I bought this in non-running condition several years ago for $99. I finally sent it out for service ($100) a few weeks ago. Just got it back today. It'll be Thursday's watch for sure.

INCOMING !!! - I hate you all !
Just got a 15400 and I liked it, it was nice, it was handsome, it was comfortable. It was a nice companion to its 44mm steel novelty cousin that was already a part of the small stable. But I really wanted something more 'daily' wear oriented, something that I can wear without too much concern for scratches and scuffs.I tried to ignore the numerous photos and advice that certain members around here were dispensing........and then I tried IT on.......and it SPOKE to me, and the deed was done. Out with the 15400 and in with .......well lets keep this a surprise until it arrives. But feel free to guess

New Submariner No-Date 114060 Price Out the Door
Just pulse checking here.I was waiting for Basel to hear whether a new Submariner without date would be launched.This Saturday walked into a Rolex AD and of course they had hardly any stock except a non-date Sub they just got in.
