A Conversation with Tom Anstead of Anstead Watches
A few weeks ago, we got the chance to chat with Tom Anstead, owner and designer of Anstead Watches. Anstead is a retired officer of the United States Navy. His naval career, as well as the watches available to him during his time in service, very much informed the design of the Anstead Oceanis.Anstead's first generation Oceanis debuted a couple of years ago, a product of one of the early Kickstarter watch campaigns. The second generation debuted in September. YM or TT SM300?
Hi guys,I have a friend who's offering to swap his TT rose gold seamaster 300 with my Yachtmaster. On the one hand I really like how the seamaster looks. It's just stunning in person. But on the other hand, my YM is such a great all around companion. Actually, if I had both I'm all set haha! But unfortunately, it can't be. It has to be one or the other. Incoming!!! What can I say I¡¯m a sucker for the Nautilus blue! Wasn¡¯t bonding enough with my WG Sub so off it went to another home. Came across this double sealed 5980/1A and finally realized a dream of mine. Almost went with a black dial 5980 but just can¡¯t get enough of that mesmerizing blue. My wife says it¡¯s just like ¡°the other one¡± but I¡¯m convinced they are different enough. What do you think--will they be happy together?Haven¡¯t figured out how to add comments between pics but I¡¯ve included a pic just after cutting the seals, some wrist shots and a group family pic. I¡¯ve also recently added a VC Overseas Chrono. Haven¡¯t sized it yet, as I¡¯m planning to put it on black rubber strap with a deployant. Not sure why the VC OS doesn¡¯t get much love as it¡¯s quite the value at current discounts. IMO it¡¯s one of the best options available in top tier makers that have a rubber strap. Would appreciate opinions on this one.

Patek 5960/1a (steel)
Just wondering what most people's thoughts are on this piece. The majority of the opinions I've read so far have been mostly negative but I wonder how many have actually seen it in the flesh (I haven't). I'm strangely drawn to it, especially the dial. I also respect the work that must go into the bracelet and polishing of the overall piece.Opinions?

I stopped by a mall boutique while on vacation and saw a small selection of Panerai watches. Admittedly I never really cared for Panerai, however seeing them in person absolutely changed that for me. I tried on and looked at the PAM564 and I loved it. The titanium case/bezel, the in house movement, and it fit my larger wrists absolutely perfectly. I'm truly enamored of it.I am very strongly considering picking it up but I wanted to see if anyone here owns one, and what your thoughts on it after the honeymoon period. Thanks!
