This year was my very first Baselworld, and it was incredible. Despite being jet-lagged and hungry most of the time, the rush of running around and seeing all the new releases was really invigorating. We met with numerous brands from Rolex to Ressence and everything in between, all with very different offerings. Here are my top five favorite watches from Baselworld 2016. 1. Rolex Cosmograph Daytona In Black 1 OF 6 As much of a predictable cliché as this choice may seem, this watch was truly awesome to behold in person. Literally everyone at Baselworld (okay, maybe not everyone, but the entire HODINKEE team) was talking about this watch. And even though I like to go against the trend, I just couldn't help myself with this one. Both black and white dial versions were shown, but given the choice, I would definitely go for the all-black version with black Cerachrom bezel. It's just a super cool watch and even though it is 40 mm, it wears well on my wrist

The Chronomat Evolution has long been Breitling's ¡°Flagship¡± model and their most successful, and far as sales, in many territories. Breitling used the basics of this ageless design when they introduced the new Blackbird in 2006. This watch differed from the Evo in that it had a large date feature. It was named after the Blackbird SR-71 High Altitude Reconnaissance Aircraft. I say ¡°new¡± Blackbird because this model should not be confused with the original Blackbird that was introduced in 1996 and its successor from 2002 to 2004 (ref 13353). These models were very similar to the Chronomat Evos of their time. My other Grail isn't a Rolex... I feel odd...
No it's not a Rolex. Its an Omega Speedmaster Professional. The much vaunted Moon watch as it were. I did own one about nine years ago. A 1968 pre moon with an 861. I miss it. Always have. While it's not a Rolex it is still an amazing piece to me. I have my Rolex grail on my wrist as I write this. My 14060 is beautiful. Yet I still desire another Speedmaster. I always wore mine on a Nato or leather deployment style strap. Can anyone tell me why all of the used ones are as much as brand new ones ?? Am I missing something here??Can anyone recommend a seller for Omega here on the boards? I'm not a big fan of Ebay.

HiJust wondered if anyone in the UK had purchased a TT Submariner recently and if so if they'd managed to negotiate any kind of discount?I was thinking about a Blue faced TT as a possible next purchase (that sunburst is just stunning!)My local AD has one but before I go and see them I would like to be 'pre armed' as it were with a little negotiating knowledge - obviously if there's no chance, don't want to look silly for asking!!In fairness, there are a couple of nearly new/used ones on eBay that look genuine enough (original sales receipt etc) but if I can get a new one for similar money I'd prefer my name on the warranty card.Any assistance/feedback appreciated.Regards.Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
