Cartier W1556214 wrist watches news:
Hey folks, this is my first post here, and I apologize if I'm asking a question that's been answered many times. I've recently started looking into picking up my first high-quality watch, and I've become obsessed with the Hamilton Khaki King (black face with black leather band). I'm wondering if anyone on here would be able to recommend a dealer with good, competitive prices. I'm not sure if the prices vary much, but I thought it would be worth looking around. I'm just not sure where to start, or who's reputable, etc. Thanks in advance for you help.
I am nearly at a loss for words because of what happened today! I bought four pristine Waltham watch dials off of ebay last week and they arrived today in shambles. This has to be the dumbest person on the face of the planet!!! The dials were sent in a .44 cent envelope wrapped in a sheet of paper!!!!! PLUS, this seller placed some kind of tape directly on the face and back of the dials!!!! What an incredible loss of American history by trying to save $1.28 and not buying a padded envelope and bubble wrap!!!! You can see in the pictures that this envelope was sent through the processing machine at the post office and they were crushed, you can even see where the dial feet have been forced through the envelope and that there are holes in it now, almost of the feet were crushed off as well. These dials WOULD HAVE completed a couple of very nice American antique watches that WOULD have been enjoyed for years to come but are now lost forever! This seller has a 100% rating and sells watch p
OK, for most of you WISes, maybe is the right decision, but maybe for others won'tMy 3 year old daughter dropped some days ago my only digital camera (Canon Powershot S5 IS), and it simply got destroyed because it went down stairs Well, that was a good excuse to get a DSLR, but unfortunately too much expense in watches in the last two months (including new purchases and restorations) so, the DSLR should wait at least one more month...So, considering that anyway I will buy the DSLR, I thought that no need for another P&Sand the money that I took away for the new P&S purchase now is gone in watches (again )This, because I got a super duper deal, and I got (well will have them in my hands in two or three weeks) Seiko BM and OM with bracelet, from an online store (no need to remove non-sponsor link :D) both with box, international warranty and manual for $300 It was a deal hard to pass up, so I will not have digital camera for a while, but come on, who need pics I'm becoming the bi
Hi Everyone!Regarding screw-down crowns, I am wondering how many complete (if in fact even one) turns AFTER the threads are engaged should a crown turn before it becomes snug? I have an Omega and it seems almost right after the threads engage it becomes snug; maybe 1/2 turn. I took it to Omega, ahd it overhauled, including the crown, and then had it looked at by a local jeweler who works on many high end watches and they though it was OK. I also have a Luminox with the same issue. Also had a Tag Heuer that screwed in very smooth; about 3 revolutions before snugging down. I realise different watch brands are going to have different tolerances, but I'm more concerned about the Omega.Does this seem normal? Thanks,Dan
For months I've been wondering if the Ban was actually lifted. So this month I pulled the trigger and purchased a watch online from Germany. Fortunately, the seller came highly recommended by a German friend I work with in Dubai. So the same rules apply, Buy the Seller. I could have easily flown to Germany to get the watch. But I really wanted to test the process. Lessons Learn:1. Your Seller will require a few days to get the Export documents from his/her Country's Custom Authority. This delay may seem he/she is up to something, but in actuality their dealing with Government workers (I think we all know how that can be). 2. Your seller may hire a Shipping Broker to assist with the export/import process. I was his first online US Buyer, so he needed assistance. I paid extra for the service ($150-$200), it made things go smoother. The overall shipping cost including the use of the Export Broker $300. 3. The Shipping Broker used FEDEX. The watch departed Germany on a Monday, arrived i
