Cartier W2603156 wrist watches news:
Hi all,I am new to collecting and this is my first post. I think I got really lucky at the Goodwill store this weekend and would like some opinions on my aquisition. I paid $75 for this because I thought this was a great looking watch. The watch does run, but their is a problem with the stem - it is permanently in the setting position but can still be wound be pushing in the crown and winding. I am a little familiar with the Illinois name so I bought it. The watch appears to be completely original down to the band. Any thoughts?101_2010.jpg101_1981.jpg101_2012.jpg101_2005.jpg101_1968.jpg
Hello! I would like to thank everyone in advance for any help they could give me. I have the opportunity to buy an original Hamilton "Otis" reverso watch. The watch is engraved with a monogram on the front, and is missing the second hand. It is not running, but could be an easy fix, haven't looked at it yet. I was just wondering what you guys think is a good price to pay for a piece like this one. I'm a flipper, and I do know this is a desirable model, but is to small for my ape wrists!

I have been curious on what are more distinct domeness of the sapphire crystal between 422 and 233. The website states that 422 has 3mm thick sapphire formed of corundum while 233 has 2mm thick sapphire. I only held a 233 up close and have not seen 422 in person. For my fellow WIS, who have seen both in person side by side, can you tell me which has more distinct domeness between the 2? probably also which crystal distorts less or more. Thank you all for the help and knowledge. Cholo
I finally broke down and did it. This past Saturday I went into the AD and bought my first Rolex. I've been lusting after this watch for the better part of a decade, and I finally found the right time in my life to make it happen. I'm the kind of guy who normally wears one watch for several years at a time and doesn't really rotate watches based on my mood or the day of the week. With this watch I wasn't only buying a wristwatch, I was conscientiously buying a family antique that will be passed down to the next generations, conscientiously buying an extension of myself that I will wear for the rest of my life, conscientiously buying an item to celebrate important life events which invariably add meaning to the watch, conscientiously buying it to celebrate achieving personal goals I set for myself, conscientiously buying a watch in order to make practical use of the very functions that it employs. When I wear this watch it tells a story of a lifelong love of watches, aviation, adv
