Cartier W2603356 wrist watches news:
I have a ?....when did Rolex put "Swiss/Swiss made" on bottom of dial? I've heard/read they didn't do it for watches sold in Switzerland...only export...I've heard/read Rolex didn;t do it 'till '70's...anyone know????
Or just pure classic?Just bought this 14060M.
Just got this watch this afternoon. Genejockey informed me it was from their Horizon Look line. The best way to explain it is that the dial and crystal run to and cover over the bezel. In essence the bezel ring isn't there and the dial runs to the case and the crystal covers that and sits flush with the case. The watch is in unbelievably great shape. The dial, hands, and markers are clean and shiny and luckily the crystal only shows a few scratches that I mostly buffed out.The case and lugs are in very good shape and the gold filling is intact. The case back does show some scratching, but at that, very minor.I fitted a Hadley bracelet on it.The movement is Elgins American made 760 automatic with 30 jewels. It has a bph of 18,000 (I think). It winds freely and seems to keep time. The case measures 32mm from 10 o'clock to 4.
Last night I was talking with a co-worker and as he was showing me a picture on his phone and I saw a picture of a gold watch. I asked what that was and he told me a story about how he obtained the watch. It was given to his father in WWII POW camp by an Italian general. The strange thing is in the face it just says Philippe Watch not Patek Phillipe and Anti-Magnetic at the bottom. I asked for a picture and as soon as I get it will post it. In the meantime does anyone have any insight into what this watch might be.Here are some pics.
Just wanted to know if anybody has noticed the 24 hr numbers on the bezel of the two tone are almost always looking like a deep mustard yellow in photos online? When I went to the actual boutique the numerals look lighter in person similar to the Rolex website which i absolute love. Much nicer than I had seen on youtube or in Chrono24 listings. I even took a pic of it in the window and it came out deep (ugly deep) yellow for some reason. I want to make sure that the yellow of the gold on the bezel looks great in person.I'm concerned that the numerals may just look good because of the heavy lighting the watch is presented under at the boutique. Am I tripping? I don't care what it looks like in photos as long as i get that stunning look in person. What do you guys think?
