Christophe Claret, known for creating complicated timepieces with tourbillons and repeater mechanisms, has released his most ambitious such model yet, called the Soprano. The watch’s signature features are its 60-second tourbillon, stepped “Charles X” bridges made of sapphire, and a musically accurate four-note minute repeater striking Westminster chimes on cathedral gongs.A traditional minute repeater tells the time audibly with two notes created from two small hammers striking two gongs: one for the hours, one for the minutes and a combination of the two for the quarter hours. A more complex type is the Clarion repeater, with three notes that can play a simple melody for the quarters. The most complex minute repeater is the Westminster, named for the distinctive tune played by the Big Ben clock at England’s Palace of Westminster, which strikes the quarters with four hammers striking four notes on four bells. 351 vs. 233
I've had a 351 since August. Love it, but I've got the itch for a 233. The 233 is the watch I really wanted when I was back in the market for a Panerai in August. I am thinking that it is a better piece for me to own in the long run, more versatile with the black dial, slimmer case, etc...Or not??? This hobby is crazy!!! Out of all the in-house automatic 1950 case models, the PAM 351 is my favorite. The tobacco dial is different and the light-weight Titanium case wears more comfortable on my wrist compared to the other SS models, ie, 312. The 233 is SS, but it has a slightly slimmer case, thus wears really nice on my thin wrists. I am more of an automatic watch guy, but no big deal in winding the 233 up once a week. I also like linear PR function. I'll throw this at you. I can't see owning multiple 1950 case models, so would you sell the 351, lay out of few thousand extra $ and buy a nice pre-owned 233, preferably a dot?

My fianc¨¦ is quite envious of my new DJ41, and in order for me to justify a bluesy at any point in the next year or two I believe I¡¯ll have to get her a nice gift as well. Can also use all these upcoming life events as great justification. ;-)She¡¯s poked around on the Rolex website and is quite interested in the 116234. DJ36 with jubilee bracelet, white mother of pearl face w/bling inside.I feel like this won¡¯t be a common model to stumble across at an AD. How long would I need to expect to wait once ordered? Trying to build myself a plan around the timing...and how I plan to pay for all this.
