Hamilton Basel 2016 Preview
Following up our coverage of Rado's Basel preview the other week, we got the chance to check out a small amount of what Hamilton will be bringing to the party come late March. A staple brand here at w&w, Hamilton tends to drop a few gems per year, while continuing to bolster and evolve their core lines. At the preview we saw many things including an entirely new line from the brand, which is very uncommon for them, some nice new pieces for their Khaki military-inspired lines, a bold new diver and a ladies watch that might end up popular with guys too. Across all of them, there was one more change, and that was to their branding. Hamilton has brought back their H logo from the 60's, a move I think no Hamilton fan will complain about. New Strap on my Datejust Photos!
The photos...horrible, I know. Need to get my self a new camera and some more experience with taking photos But anyway here they are I just love it with the black strap and the white stitching. If anyone got any datejust's or any other rolex watches with straps on then please post them!

Just"won" a Benrus alarm and a Lord Elgin 30 Jewel
Getting a mechanical alarm watch has been on my to do list. With new Vulcains running into the thousands, I had to go the other way. I lost out on a nice Benrus alarm watch last week when at the last second bidding went into crazy territory. It isn't that I couldn't have won it, I just wasn't going to pay $400 for one. This one was within my tolerances. Looking at the pictures, the dial looks great, but will probably need some TLC to bring the case up to specs.Screen Shot 2013-09-22 at 4.36.36 PM.jpgThe other watch I won today was a Lord Elgin American made 30 jewel automatic. Not much on Movado
I know that this question has been asked hundreds of times but I wanna hear first hand why Movado isn't a discussed brand. I own a two-tone Movado Museum Watch (model no. 605910) that I got as a gift a while ago, it's not the GREATEST watch I own but it's a nice dressy watch. At first I was turned off by the simple design, and how much you have to pay for just two hands and a dot, but once I received one I decided I'd give it a chance and wore it anytime I had to wear a suit. Weddings, business, whatever. I think it keeps good time and is pretty easy to read. Most of the museum dials are quartz, but there a lot of automatics. And the brand has been around for some 200 years and the Museum Watch is the first watch to be in the Museum of Modern Art (hence the name, Museum watch), which no other brand can say. They're a descent brand who makes some pretty nice watches. And although they're a bit overpriced, they are real nice and (some) are worth the money. So why isn't Movado talked abou
