Hey Guys,I was reading my highly regarded Rolex book, "The Best Of Times" by James Dowling and Jeffrey Hess earlier and came across this (I've copied it exactly to the letter. It is a lot of text but please bare with it):"The untold story of the GMT-Master is of it's role in the United States' space missions of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Every one knows that the NASA astronauts were issued with Omega Speedmasters, but anyone who has read Tom Wolfe's definitive book "The Right Stuff" or who has seen Philip Kaufman's movie made from the book will know that the astronauts were fighter ot test pilots (or both) and most definitely not conformists. I've never owned a real watch before, nor do I know anything about them. But I have done a ton of research, and I think I've narrowed it down. Initially I was looking at this oneorientwatchusa/watch.php?id=119Which I like, but really would prefer a black band. I would most likely end up buying a black leather band and swapping them out. This watch is $120 through their site, or $90 on amazon.I was almost going to go with this one, but then I emailed Orient and they informed me of a 50% off coupon code for first time buyers. Chances to see a GMT coke at Basel
The GMT coke was my first Rolex in 1992 and sadly sold it a year later. I would love to own again a new GMT coke SS on non polished oyster bracelet.I know its been lot of speculation around it since last year but any serious thought to see again the GMT coke at Basel on march 23td? What are the chances to make it happen?Maybe some Basel insiders will read my thread.. who knows ;)
