Bracelet adjustment on the Seiko 5 Sport SKZ253K1
This Christmas my lovely wife added my fifth watch to my treasured collection. I have to thank kibi for his pics on the Seiko 5 Sport SKZ253K1. I had been looking at another Seiko but quickly changed my mind after seeing his great shots. Now I was hoping that I could adjust the band just like I did my Sea Shark. I actually found the perfect screwdriver and just backed out the screws. Not so with the Seiko 5. I removed the spring pin with no problem and then pushed out the first pin in the link. Naturally I saw the arrow on the inside of the bracelet. I used an upholstery needle to push it out just enough to grab the pin at the bottom. I noticed the tiny split sleeve dropped out at the top end of the link. I¡¯m thinking that I drop that sleeve in @ the top and then push the pin (with the other sleeve attached to it) back up in the opposite direction of the arrow. My problem is I think I need to squeeze the loose sleeve a bit because it keeps dropping out. Also, do use any permatex like I

Finally, I am now the proud owner of one the masterpieces of horological masturbation, an (almost) impossible-to-find white dial 15300.I have owned and reviewed many watches over the years but the Genta-designed references I really love so ending my search on such a high note with an almost like new piece makes it all the sweeter.Not much else to say about this classic, a few dirty mobile snaps below.
