Citizen JV0010-08E wrist watches news:
I have just sold two vintage watches and have one (YM) FS. The vintage sold w/o much problems but the modern one just is not selling.I placed it on eBay and the high bid was $4660.00. This is NOT a ladies YM or a mid-size and I cannot get over 5K?I realize the watch is a few years old but it is close to near mint! However anyone can give watches away and I refuse to take less than 5K or will just keep the watch or give it to my son. Anyone else have problems selling a modern Rolex? In any case I will pick this up soon. =) maverickTotally unpolished 6239 from original owner. =) maverickCirca 1969
This very week the anniversary of the Edict of Nantes is coming round for the 411th time.It was on April 13, 1598 or on April 30, 1598 (sources differ on the exact date) that the king of France, Henri IV signed the edict. With his signature the king pronounced the end of the religious wars which had ravaged the country. The protestants were re-instated as subjects of the crown and awarded the same civic rights the catholic subjects had enjoyed un-interruptedly. Most clock makers were protestants and had fled France to Switzerland, Germany, Great Britain and the Netherlands some years earlier. A great many of them decided to go home to their native country again. It is how France became the number one time keeping device country again. It was the revocation of the Edict of Nantes by one of Henry IV's successor, the famous Louis XIV in 1685 which lead to a new exodus of the protestant clock makers to Switzerland. And this exodus permitted the Swiss to lay the foundations of their own watch
So I've seen the incredibly expensive VC Overseas ultra thin and wondered if there has ever been a 39mm or greater Royal Oak without the date. IMHO that would be a beautiful and symmetric watch.I'm not talking ROO's just the normal RO's
Today I posted a picture of my omega in another thread and was private messaged by another member telling me it's a fake and that I should refrain from posting it. Before I post the name of the very well known dealer I would like to find out if this is a fake and whether I was duped. Please help.Any input?Dmitry
Hi. This dial (photo 1) is being offered on a 18238 on 1stdibs. The price is too high, but I like the dial. I've never seen a 10 baguette dial by Rolex, but this is supposedly rare and from 1993.The closest I've been able to find anything like it is this fugly thing from this replica site. Is the 1stdibs listing peddling a faux? There are no lume dots, so I'm thinking the lume hands are probably a mismatch, but that could be an incorrect assumption.
