Corum 984.751.20/0F01 BN77 wrist watches news:
For a few years now, Frederique Constant has been in cahoots with the UK based Healey Challenge. An annual race operated by the Healey Drivers Club. What does Frederique Constant get do in this scene? Well make special limited edition watches that might be of interesting ti the Healey divers. I actually wrote about their last offering here, the most basic Frederique Constant Austin Healey watch. That was a three-handed model where this is a chronograph. Really when I think of race or motorcar themed watches, they have chronograph mechanisms. Thankfully Frederique Constant didn't insert the passe tachymetre scale on the bezel. Finally someone realizes that not all car oriented watches have to look like an Omega Speedmaster or Tag Heuer Carrera. While lots of classic car lovers are familiar with Austin Healey and cars, like the 3000 (below) and the Sprite, I would say that a club that races the cars and are dedicated only to them is the very definition of Niche. The brand has been "no lon
This Bring A Loupe focuses on vintage watches that fly under the radar for a lot of collectors, but that are really worth looking at. This week you will not find any Universal Geneve, Heuer, Rolex or Patek; but keep reading. You will indeed discover a rarely seen Girard-Perregaux Olimpico, a couple of Enicars, and maybe the most Seventies chronograph ever made, from Revue. The purpose of this unusual selection is twofold: to introduce you to little-known yet really attractive vintage watches, and also provide you with some Christmas suggestions at interesting price points. This is your Bring A Loupe for December 18, 2015. A Girard-Perregaux Olimpico Reference 9075, Simply A Very Cool Chronograph 1 OF 10 For me, this was the most exciting find of the week. I had previously seen the Girard-Perregaux Olimpico on the wrists of collectors, but I was not expecting to see one example suddenly pop up on eBay – especially not in such a good condition, with the o
So what do you do when you have $5,000 to spend on a watch? Read HODINKEE of course. We've got four of our editors to consider the question for you: what's the best buy in mechanical watches under $5000 – and what's your new prize, once you have it on the wrist, going to make you want to save for? Well, read on, friends. We have listed our top mechanical watches for under $5,000 and a similar (more expensive) watch that you're going to start to yearn for once you're hooked on watches. Cara Barrett ¨C The NOMOS Z¨¹rich And The A. Lange & S?hne Saxonia Automatic 1 OF 8 Well, NOMOS and Lange may be the obvious choice here, but what can I say? I unequivocally LOVE Nomos and Lange – I am who I am! My choice for a first mechanical watch under $5,000, would have to be the NOMOS Zürich in stainless steel with white dial for $4,180. And for the “save for later watch” I would choose the Lange Saxonia Automatic in white gold.
Any reason why one "should" be better than the other?I'm looking at 2 different GMT watches and one has the 2836-2 (Aeronautic GMT) and the other has the 2893-2 (Debaufre GMT Ocean 1). The 2893-2 is about $150 more in price (about $500 vs. $650).For me, I think I like the look of the 2836-2 watch better so I may have answered my own question but I wanted an opinion on one movement vs. the other.Thanks.
I'm looking for a 50's- early 70's seamaster. I've spent the last few wks trying to educate myself. I'd take either a SS or GP, I'm interested in a ricebead bracelet. Do these stretch like the Rolex jubilees? I've got my eye on a 1961 GP seamaster case GX6250. Any words of wisdom?
