Over the last few years, Cartier's Fine Watchmaking department has been consistently pushing out some of the most creative and technically impressive haute horology around. Just a few weeks ago we showed you the new Astrocalendaire and today we've got another stunner for you. The Rotonde de Cartier Earth and Moon uses its tourbillon and a moving Lapis Lazuli disc to display the phase of the moon on demand and there is a second timezone display as well. The Earth and Moon is as much a mechanical sculpture as it is a timekeeper and here we've got all the details.The Earth and Moon is not a subtle watch – far from it. The platinum case comes in at 47mm across and 16.65mm thick, with robust arching lugs. The dial is bright blue lapis lazuli with a white gold Roman numeral grid over the top that also features a map of the earth at the center. Finally tried on the 18k Portuguese 7 day
So last week on my trip I had the chance to try on a bunch of new watches, one of which was the 18k rose-gold Portuguese 7 day. I've been looking for one to try on for over a year and finally was able to. First impressions were WOW! The watch looked simply stunning on the wrist. And the size wore larger than expected due to the smaller bezel area & larger face diameter (a big plus for me).I gotta say I was greatly impressed with the look, feel & quality...Now I just need to find one at 70% off list I also tries on the Pilot, da Vinci and Inguiner re-issues too. They were nice, but not as nice as the Portuguese. Unfortunately they didn't have the Portuguese or Portofino re-issues. Those 2 I really would have liked to see, especially the 46mm Portofino moon-phase.

Spotting a fake/replica panerai?
Hey everyoneim new to the forums and im new to the panerai brand.I have a few questions, maybe you guys can shed some light oni know panerai watches are swiss made but there are some really good replicas out there that are also swiss made, how would you tell the difference between a fake and a authentic in this case?Esp. For a simple panerai model like a panerai marina?because i have been doing research on panerai and i have grown to love their watches. I know they have swiss movement and i know that some very good replicas out there are also made with swiss movement.so what im basically asking is, if people check the movement of a watch to determine whether its authentic or not then how do you know if a good replica that has a swiss movement is identifiable as a replica, does this make sense?is checking the movement of the watch the only way to determine whether the watch is authentic? if it's not the only way, what are some other ways you guys personally use to identify a fake,Any an
