Ebel 1215794, 9750L62/53b60 wrist watches news:
Here are a couple of pics of my first ever Breitling! I'm thinking this may be the start of something...
Last night I won a very exciting, interesting and 'rare' wrist watch. OK, I thought, this is pretty 'rare' then after a bit of research, I got thinking is this 'rare' or is it 'very rare'?After much deliberation, I came up with following definitions:1) 'Ultra' RareThis would be a watch, that is so 'rare' either for its scarcity, or its 'horological' importance, like design or who made it.'Ultra' rare means maybe maximum, one or two exist, it MUST BE, of huge instrumental importance, to the progress in 'horology'And would probably be a 'Museum' piece.A, '1 of 1' would not necessarily fall into 'Ultra' Rare if it was not of immense 'Horological' importance!Ike's father has pieces like this, that Museums are begging for.2) 'Very' RareThis would be a watch, that is fairly rare, maybe a few pcs exist, but in (say) 35 yrs of collecting you (personally) may come across two pieces.I would put The Rolex Didactic (1933) in that league. The watch was serviced by the original owner in 2006 thru Omega AD ben Bridge and one in my possession it was serviced by Omega thru Omega AD Traditional jewelers. The watch has always run +1 sec a day while in my possession.I use the watch as a modern beater when I do not want to wear a vintage Rolex but still want a nice timepiece on my wrist.I listed the watch for sale here in TRF classifieds a couple weeks ago. After posting the listing I got the watch out, wound it and wore it for a day, intending to wear it for a couple days to confirm the accuracy or change my ad if accuracy had changed. Accuracy had not changed but there was something clearly loose and rattling inside the watch when it was shaken. Not able to sell the watch in that condition I took it back to Traditional Jewelers, explained my concern and asked t
