SIHH 2015: Baume & Mercier’s New Classima Collection
At SIHH in Geneva, Baume & Mercier presented its redesigned Classima collection. Targeted at entry-level consumers, the Classima line includes men’s steel and two-tone automatic models.The Classima collection’s new watches are 3-hand models with date display. They are built off of a Sellita SW200 base caliber, similar to the ETA 2824. It beats at 28,800 vph and how a power reserve of 38 hours. It runs in 26 jewels.The men’s Classima is 40 mm in diameter and 8.95 mm thick. It has blued steel hands for the hour, minutes and seconds. Applied hour indexes include Roman numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. A date window is at 3 o’clock.One of the defining aesthetic features of the watch is its inner dial, where the silver-colored opaline is engraved with a straight-line guilloch¨¦ design. ?40 lorus v PO Omega Part II
Hi guysFinally received my watch back from Omega as it was sent to Switzerland for regulation.The watch took 3wks and 1 day to repair, and i can confirm that on the rear casing the red dot is intact but slightly faded.I also had some light surface scratches on the strap that been removed by Omega.I have just set the watch to the US Atomic clock and will let you know tomorrow with regards to it's accuracy over a 24hr period as you all probably remember the watch 6wks old and running 15+ secs a day.ThanksAndrew

Spring bar tool
Can anyone suggest the proper spring bar tool to change out various straps and bands? I have a PO that I may want to change from the rubber strap to the SS band. I also have a Breitling with a rubber strap that I will need to change to a leather strap. Is there a certain tool that would work best? And does it take different ends to remove the spring bar from leather/rubber vs. a stainless steel band?

ROC dial question
I have my eye on a few AP's looking to make my first AP purchase. I like a lot of different designs and styles and am having a hard time picking. I like many of the ROC designs and I do prefer a larger size watch, more than 40mm and happy with 44.My question is about the placement of the dials and numbers on the chronograph models. At the risk of offending, and with my advance apologies, I just wonder why some manufacturers add large numbers to a dial and then chop them off with other features like sub dials or a day/date window. It somehow looks strange to me. Like why have the bottom part of an 8 on the dial when over half of it is obscured by a sub dial? Why not just omit that number or use some other type of index?Is there some history to this or other reason to justify something so odd? I love many of the color and design variants of the ROC but that one aspect just kills the look for me. Its too bad because otherwise they fit my criteria for size and design. I know in th
