I went to my AD last night to pick-up my other watch that came from service. I was very surprised to see that they have thier DSSD in the case and not somewhere hidden, backvaultHave you guys seen this lately? Watches that are not normally displayed are now starting to show in AD's cases to promote sales. To me, dealers are now desperate to make a sale due to economic status.

E-bay bargain Elgin 630
I've been paying more attention to American vintage watches on Ebay since I've been reading past posts on this forum. I just received this project watch through the mail and wasn't sure what I was getting. The case is solid stainless steel and the movement is labeled 630. I understand that, based on an earlier post, the movement is based on an other Elgin design but manufactured in Switzerland. There is much work to do but the price was more than fair; The seconds hand shakes too much, sort of like the way a Chameleon shimmies across a tree branch, the dial is borderline and one of the lugs is partially unsoldered.
