Dear All, First of all can I say that it is great that I am able to find a place where consumers with an expertise in watches gather together and discuss watches. Not just any watches, the best watches. I am a young student and I would like to buy a great quality watch with masculine design to compliment my graduation next year from my university course. I would like I watch that will be around for a very long time, however I am a novice when it comes to watches. I would like to ask many of the good folks on this forum outside of the major swiss watch brands like Rolex and Omega, who have big marketing budgets to compliment their expensive, well made watches, is there a less known, high quality manufacturer from Swiss that sells excellent watches that doesn't need B-grade celebrities, sportsman and models to sell its product? Not to say off-course that I hate either Rolex or Omega. My budget is pretty much up to $2000 and I do not want to pay for the marketing campaign rather I would l

Watch Issues - Any Reason to Hold Off on Registering?
Unfortunately it would seem I need to send my watch into APSC. If you read my thread from last week you saw I had an issue with the date wheel sticking (which luckily seems to not be an issue anymore), as well as a little bit of slow time keeping.I am about -5SPD which I know is nothing to worry about, however, the first more serious concern i had is that, while winding the watch, i noticed the second hand slowed down a little. Almost noticeable to the eye.I stopped in the AP Boutique in NYC a couple days ago, and got my hands on some other 42MM ROOs. Not only did those watches not behave the same way while winding, but I also realized that both winding and tightening the crown on my watch is very rough to the feel and sound. Almost like a grinding.I compared my watch to a few others that day and they were all butter smooth. I was told at the boutique that it should definitely go in for warrantied service and/or at least get checked out by their watchmakers.Of course that brings m

15300 First impressions
I'm about a week into owning my AP RO. Here are some of my general thoughts1) Great bracelet so comfortable to wear and light, the watch sits very flat 2) Love the sound of the 22K rotor zipping around ever so often and the looks of the rotor are just killer and a great conversation starter3) The dial face I catch myself zoning out and staring at the craftmanship4) My only negative is that the watch is a scratch magnet :( I picked up some scratches on the bezel on day 2 of ownership and I'm still not sure how it happened. But I'll wear them with pride until I send the watch for servicing~Overall proud owner and member of the AP club.

Grey Dials 5146
Does anyone know if there is a difference between grey dials between the:5146P (Sunburst Ebony)&5146G (Slate Gray)I have seen the 5146G with the grey dial and although it was a little difficult to read under certain light conditions it seemed very interesting. Hard to tell from pictures alone but the 5146P seems darker, easier to read but may have less variation with respect to angle and light.Thanks!
