Ebel E 1003 F 11 wrist watches news:
What a neat watch. This was an impulse buy, largely because it reminded me of guilloche black dialed Constellations of the Era, but certainly also because the watch stands on its own appearance/style wise. I popped up my usual Hamilton swamp search, hit ending soonest, and and there it was with <30 sec to go. Put in a bid at 10 seconds and the rest is history as they say I guess this is an incoming thread At 34mm, not including the crown it is a good sized watch. The Cal. 661 seems to be running fine, although I've read some interesting things about jewel wear, will have to research that a little more. The dial and watch appear to be in super shape and original. Got to love black dials. These sleeper Hamiltons appear to be some of the best looking models.
Well, a few months ago someone made a joke calling my collection of mostly vintage Chinese mechanical watches The Alberta Museum of Chinese Horology since Peace River in northern Alberta isn't exactly where folks would expect to find such a collection...Well, it exists now Link: The Alberta Museum of Chinese Horology in Peace River (AMCH/PR)...highlighting over 50 years of Chinese mechanical and automatic watch-making...
...who is interested in giving his 18yr-old son who is about to read engineering at university some type of timepiece as a graduation gift. He's always enjoyed my issue and military-style watches so the thinking was along those lines.Objectives:-Functionality and Durability-Date complication-Military style ( ideally a sterile-type look - his words, not mine )-AnalogBudget (Mom's a tough cookie!): ~$200-250Any suggestions from the sea of expertise here at Jaay and Aaay? My acquaintance feels it doesn't seem like a good call to give an 18-year old a higher-end piece (he'll save that for when his degree is complete!) and was looking at a decent-quality timepiece. Thanks pals - y'all have a nice day now ZIN
Thought u guys were all nuts , but last Thursday I bought my first Panerai (233). I read your posts, saw your pics and felt '' Its just not that nice of a watch'' NOW I GET IT !!! Forget O.C.D , I have O.P.D ''obsessive panerai disorder''I own a U.N maxi-chronometer , 2 rollies YM & daytona, Breitling 6.75 & Hublot BB KING .All the above are gonna collect a lot of dust this summer.I absolutely love this watch, Thanks Fellas !!!
ANd wow is it in great condition .....just gotta hope my watch guy can put a crown on it and keep the cost reasonable ....( he'll oil it too) here's the whole watch ......but it shows the good condition better if it's apart .....here's the case, gotta cool crystal huh ? ....and not very scratched either ....the dial et al,I think it looks pretty good for an orginal dial..and the movement .......and I see that it has a "Revue" movement ....what does that mean ? ......and is this from the late 40s or so ? .....
