HiI was chatting to a fellow Rolex Admirer yesterday, and he spotted my watch, at the time i was wearing my Airking. He said you can tell a original, by looking at the watch at six o'clock through the glass, you will see the Rolex Symbol, its a form of watermark in the glasshe saw it, I couldn't see it, But I'm half blind in one eyeIs this true??This i found interesting as well He also said the Date numbers should go black then red alternately on a rolexI assume my 1995 Sub must be a fake then ?He had a datejust his numbers went red then black as the date changedWould appreciate your commentsRay
Just found a new source for Marina Militare watches so I had to place an order and check them out. Took delivery by EMS...that would be International Express Mail Service...in 6 days from the time I placed my order.I think the Marina Militare watch is pretty well known and it is what it is. An homage piece. First up is the white dial automatic on black embossed leather with contrast stitching and stainless steel pin buckle. 44mm case diameterpolished 316L stainless case and bezel with brushed case backmineral glass crystalautomatic movement with small seconds at 9 o'clock and date window at 3 o'clockThe first thing I do when checking these watches over is to make sure all the required screws are present and tight. This watch passed inspection. This is my second MM with a white dial. I really like the clean look.I think 44mm is a good size on my wrist.I'll have more about these two when I have time for some quality photos. Thanks for looking.
I inherited this Silver Ancre watch in original case from my stepdad. The back of the watch case has the words (from top) ANCRE, Ligne Droite, Remontoir 15 Joyause, & NO. 32723. The dial face has the word "PATENT".. The crystal opens up. The back has "two" separate closures that enclose the internal parts. (See Pics). Inside the case is a hang tag that says "C7124, French watch, token of second world war-, Release spring can bbe repaired". There are no movement numbers visible from the back where they normally would be located. the words "Remontoir 15 Joyause" has me confused as it normally states "Rubis" on these watches. Can anyone please give me any information about this watch? Thank you,..Blrk100
Hi All,I was talking to the Panerai salesman in Harrods yesterday. He said all ETA model were being discontinued for the in house movement. So the models like the 111 would no longer by continued. All movements would how 8 days. Price increase was going to be ¡ê700. Can anyone else verify this?
