Jaquet Droz’s New Bird Repeater Geneva
The Jaquet Droz brand has made a name for itself by combining fine watchmaking and elaborate mechanical inventions. Now Jaquet Droz has turned its attentions to the capital city of watchmaking. With the new Bird Repeater Geneva, the brand has adapted its automaton-bearing minute repeater to include some of Geneva’s landmarks. On the Bird Repeater Geneva’s dial, timekeeping takes a backseat to grand effects. Most prominent on the dial are the bird automata, which are hand-painted and hand-crafted in gold. There are two fully grown goldfinches: the one on the left leans forward to feed its young, while the one on the right moves its head and extends and retracts its wings. In the gold nest between the birds, two hatchlings sit on either side of an egg. The egg cracks open, revealing another baby bird inside.?Meanwhile, the painted gold dial behind the birds displays recognizable symbols of Geneva. Just Finished Omega Mk2 Gold / Red Tachy :)
Hello, i just wanted to share with you my last resoration. I couldnt be happier with the results !As i shared here at the forums a couple of months back i bought a decent condition Mk 2 gold plated with red tachy crystal. I was hooked with this speedy, since its the most rare from the mk2 series.I went all the way with this resoration, the 861 movement was crying for a deep clean and service, i brushed the case the proper way, and did had to buy a new red crystal. The dial and hands where in great condtion so i did conserve the patina. Finally i bought a german leather vintage strap which gives the final super quality look to this vintage rare watch.Please tell me what you think about the pictures since i dont know what else to say.Thanks ! Crown Guard question...
Has anyone ever had just a crown guard replaced due to a ding or nick? Or does anyone know if it's possible even?Any first hand experience and info is appreciated...Also curious as to an approximate price....realizing that it would vary depending on the model.thanks!

Hi Guys,On the subject of wearing Rolex for work, hers a couple of pics. I have just finished carrying out a laser scanning survey of caves in Gibraltar.Sub was great to see easily during long shifts underground! Will take explorer next time.!!!
