Franck Muller 7008 CC CF wrist watches news:
Watch makers can have a good time playing with colors and materials. A typical favorite among watch designers is sharp transitions from one material, color or texture to another. This often yields in an interesting look appealing to the eye due to the constant contrasts. Lights appear lighter, and dark colors appear deeper. This is mostly due to the human eye, which seems to be drawn to such complexities of form.A particular favorite of mine is the contrast between matte black and polished steel. The austere look of the black works to immediately enhance the sheen of the polished silver colored steel. This effect is somewhat lost when the black itself is always glossy. Creating a series of sharp contrasts, the eye picks up a number of distinct shapes and patterns that come out of the design and construction of the watch. In effect, you get a much better appreciation of the colors and segmentation of the watch because the overall watch stands out so much more. The three watches pictures
In reading all the posts here about 233's, I very often see that the 233 dot models are harder and harder to find, that's the answer given most of the time to members thinking of buying a 233.But there not so hard to find, just taking a look on Chrono24 there's about 5-6 of them on sale, not new but in mint condition going around 7.000-8.000 euros, compared to the AD price of 10.900 euros for a new model it seems to me much more interesting to get a dot model, they're much cheaper, and as much as I like the AM/PM version, I wanted as my first Pam to buy the 335 in ceramic which has AM/PM, but the seller sold it the day before and proposed me the 233 dot, which I gladly purchased, if I should get a 4th Pam it would either be the 36 or the 335, I do prefer the 233 in it's dot version.Especially it's nicer IMO to have a model which is out of production than to pay a lot more for an actual production model, so for those thinking of buying a 233, the dot ones are still easy to get, so save
State of the Daytona’s: my trio together. My first was the TT 16503. It is obviously the most accessible. I’m fortunate to have a good relationship with my AD and I’m thrilled to have both SS models in my collection to complement the TT.Most people like the white dial more than the black for the SS models. I understand the homage to the Paul Newman and how the white dial is *closer* to the Newman. However, I view the 11650_ series as a watch in itself and not an homage. The fact that these are Daytonas are enough homage for my taste; they wouldn’t be what they are but for Newman and a Daytona in itself is enough of a tribute in my opinion.Aesthetically, I like the black dial the most. This will likely change over time, I’ll likely experience seasons of preference for each individual watch. I certainly appreciate them all.Lastly, I’m fortunate to have small wrists. My wife can wear all of these watches (not that she would wear the stainless m
I just got my new SS Daytona with white dial last week . Love it . Makes me wonder how much wear my older Daytona will get now . Been eyeing the Hulk . Normally wouldn¡¯t even entertain the idea of flipping a Daytona for a sub but since I have the new one I¡¯m tempted . I already have the new sub and love it also . Sure could use opinions as to what you would all do . Keep and have 2 White dial Daytona¡¯s or let old one go for the Hulk ? Thanks ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I just got my wife a Date 34 for her birthday and it has the comfort extension link like I suppose all of the Datejusts. I have a new Submariner with the glide lock clasp and I absolutely love that feature. Especially when I¡äm taking long flights (I get swallen) or during heatwaves. Also when training when abroad, I can strap the watch on the outside of the jacket when I go for runs etc. etc. After getting used to the glide lock clasp, I kind of feel sorry for my wife for only having the comfort extension link which only adds about 5mm in flexibility. It also makes me have reservations about getting a GMT II which I¡äve wanted since it doesn¡ät have the glide lock clasp.Am I overthinking this or am I not the only one?
