Harry Winston PRNQHM36WW005 wrist watches news:
On November 7, 2015, the conclusion of the sixth bi-annual Only Watch auction will take place to raise money to fund research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. With more resources than most industries, the luxury sector has the power to effect change, and as we all know, with great power comes great responsibility. The Only Watch charity is under the high patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and is proficient at securing unique donations from some of the world's best loved watch and clock makers. There will be 44 one-off pieces up for sale this September, one of which is the simply stunning Thomas Mercer Brittanica Chronometer Clock. For wristwatch die-hards, Thomas Mercer is a company that might have flown under the radar, because they only produce clocks. Thomas Mercer was a revered English horologist who plied his trade in the mid nineteenth century and is known for his exceptional marine chronometers. The product of a watchmaking family, Thomas was apprenticed to his grandfat
Here is some shameless "Stallonage." Sly dons a Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec GMT watch during the European premier of the Expendables II movie (in Germany I think). I must admit that I am really looking forward to seeing the film - especially because Arnold will be more prominently featured in it. Hopefully he will get some battle damage to show his metallic?Schwarzenegger innards.Sylvester hasn't had the easiest last few months as his son Sage Stallone died of what I believe was a drug overdose in LA. That's got to be rough as I understand Stallone was a good dad to a kid that couldn't quite standup on his own two feet. It can't be easy living in Rambo Balboa's shadow.Stallone is well-known for being a serious collector of things from watches to belt buckles. He loves his gadgets and as an icon has helped make a lot of watches popular. Most notable of course was his role in getting Panerai watches popular among his peers in Hollywood. He was also one of the leaders in the "large
For things like changing straps, removing case backs and swapping out batteries.Almost bought some tools today, but figured I should ask for advice first, then buy what's needed.
I stopped in the NYC boutique just before having to leave for the airport to come home. They have a number of the new ROOs on display. They also have some of the new ROs in the back. I asked to see the new Gray/blue titanium platinum. I admit it is beautiful. They told me it was 42,600 or 42,900 ( I cannot remember) so a little less than the 44K but still quite a premium. IT was heavier than I expected. I started looking at the date window that as mentioned in the past threads was a little off center. Did not bother me too much but I can really see how it might affect some. Well the point is they have a number of the new releases in as floor models and if you are interested-- just ask if not on the floor. I wish i would have had more time but was a tight schedule.PS I meant to mention--- the larger chrono subdials are noticeable and I like that. I do not mind the smaller seconds hand sub dial but I generally preferred having the numbers present. Cannot have everything
Any watch winder recommendations for a ROC? I have Orbita Spartas for my 2 Rolexs. I'm not too concerned with case or looks, since I'll probably put it inside a drawer or safe. Just want to get a good 2nd home for my baby. While I'd spend $$$ if it's really worth it for the longevity of the watch (since I sometimes don't get to wear it for a several day stretch), I'd rather not break the bank too badly. Thanks in advance.
