Exciting Incoming- Laptimer
Out of the blue last week I decided I was ready to try a concept AP. I was pretty dead set on one of the toubillon pieces. After a few phone calls with Paul and some much needed enabling, I sent a random text in regards to the Laptimer. Neither of us thought it was even an option, but the response to my text indicated that one was sitting in the safe as another client had backed out. It had just come in and would be the only one this AD would receive. What were the chances of that?The piece came on Wednesday and after spending some quality time with it this weekend in Chicago watching the Cubs lose, I am excited to present the AP Laptimer!Thanks to Paul for always pushing me into decisions I shouldn't make ;)

Thinking Patek 5726 or 5711r. Push me one direction.
I¡¯ve got a decent collection of Rolex¡¯s and now I¡¯ve gotten the Patek bug. I know the 5711 in stainless ain¡¯t happening so I¡¯ve narrowed it down to the 5711r or 5726 both on bracelet. I¡¯m kinda torn because I want an annual calendar/moon phase (hence why I¡¯m looking outside rolex) but also eventually wanted something rose gold in my collection. Prices seem to be all over the place, I don¡¯t plan to resell, but if I buy from a trusted seller which one would I likely lose less on down the road? Or should I get on a wait list at an AD. I know the rolex game but Patek is new to me, your input is appreciated. Calatrava tougher then you think....
Although I wouldn't subject it to the abuse a Rolex Sub or Speedy pro can take, in the month since I received my 5296 it has been subject to the following.1. Showing off in front of my wife on a carnival high striker with a mallet hammer.. I forgot the watch was on my wrist....2. Being swept off my night table by our Cat....part one....3. Being swept off my night table by our Cat.....part twoFirst fall was from a three foot height on to a rug with a thick padding beneath it.Second fall was a little more serious as it resulted in light scratches on the 9:00 side of the case.... 98 percent of which were taken off by a cape cod cloth. The remainder can wait for a visit to Patek.The watch still runs at plus 5 a day as it did the day it came home from the AD.I don't recommend this treatment on a regular basis ( The Patek now sleeps in my pocket square and golf sock drawer in order to escape the Cat..) but it is good to know these watches are not as fragile as a lot of us think.
