Zenith 03.2080.4021/01.C494 wrist watches news:
If I am going to spend $800+ on an Eco-Drive Atomic watch, I really want an elegant watch with some complications but not so many as to be "busy". Citizen models PMP56-2941 and 2942 (photo attached) have a great design but I believe they only receive Japan's atomic clock signals. Has anyone seen (or taken pictures of) the newer diver models PMD56-2981 and 2983 which receive world-wide signals? And what about the PMD56-2992 retailing for over $1,000? While not being dress watches per se, they do appear to have interesting design elements.Citizen's pricing seems comparable to Casio/Oceanus but I have not fallen in love with the less-than-elegant designs of the Oceanus or for that matter, Seiko's Brightz line. If only the Seiko Velatura line was solar and atomic!
I had the chance to look at (and take photos of) this old Breitling; it's not mine. I am told that its from 1947, but beyond that know little. Would anyone know more about this watch?
I was saving for a PAM in 07, to commemorate a special occassion. My Dad started me on this tradition, and I contiune to celebrate special events with these miniature marvels of engineering.Along the search, Liz asked me if there was anything more obscure or boutiquey that I might consider. She know's my penchant for the path less traveled.Reading, research, hours on the web, and I come to meet Steve Burns of About Time Jewelers. I had decided that I had found my dream watch and it wasn't a PAM. It was an Anonimo. Steve helped educate me further on the brand and it's story, and the rest is history. I think I am the only Anonimo in WTF so I decided it was the perfect selection for my next review. Case: The case may be the most special aspect of the watch. It is scooped out of a block of steel, as opposed to pressed, in a time honored Italian tradition. The thinking is that pressing somehow distorts the molecules and that scooping is a truer art form. That's all a bit above my h
My 5167R seemed a bit small and the 5164R wears bigger and has more presence. Also didn't have second time zone watch since losing my Reverso Grand Duo. Got a very fair price including the trade in and enjoying the extra size/heft.
Local AD just had one come in. It was on display to my surprise. I put a deposit on it and its back in the safe. Not sure what to do
