Hublot 301.PX.130.RX wrist watches news:
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with Stephen Forsey, co-founder of independent brand Greubel Forsey.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Stephen Forsey: Born in St. Albans, England, I inherited my passion for the intricacies of mechanics from my father. From 1987, I specialized in antique watch restoration, which led to a position as head of Asprey¡¯s prestigious watch restoration department, and then furthered my horological education at WOSTEP in Switzerland. In 1992, I joined Robert Greubel¡¯s team at Renaud & Papi, where I worked on the most complicated mechanical movements. ?Then, in 1999, I chose to become independent. In 2001, together with Robert Greubel, I founded CompliTime SA, a company whose goal is to create and develop complicated mechanisms for
Late last year, we ran an article about Seiko's expected reissue of the 6309-7040¡ªa beloved dive watch the brand produced throughout the 70s and 80s. That article garnered a lot of interest from our readers and online watchdom in general, and for good reason. The 6309 is undeniably a great watch¡ªone of my personal favorites from Seiko's historical catalogue¡ªand amongst Seiko diehards it remains a must-have. As far as vintage divers are concerned, they're also relatively affordable and offer great bang-for-your-buck value. The 6309 was manufactured by Seiko for approximately 12 years¡ªfrom 1976 to 1988¡ªso one could argue that they're not rare watches. And for a long time, that was certainly true. Finding a well-priced original 6309 was no challenge, but in recent years that has become less of a reality. There are a lot of Franken-6309s floating around on Ebay and on forums with aftermarket parts¡ªsome of them good, and some not so good¡ªand NOS replacement parts like handsets and bezel inse
Big news out of La Chaux-de-Fonds: St¨¦phane Linder, CEO of TAG?Heuer, has resigned from his position at the helm of one of the world's largest watchmakers. Jean-Claude Biver, current Head of Watchmaking?at LVMH, will act as CEO of TAG?Heuer in the interim.Linder assumed the role of CEO just last year, after former CEO Jean-Christophe Babin left TAG?Heuer to become CEO at Bulgari.?The departure of Linder, who has worked at TAG?Heuer for 21 years, comes amidst significant?restructuring at the firm, including 46 layoffs in September and a refocus on lower-priced watches.Linder's resignation is the second departure of key management this year for TAG?Heuer, after Patrick Pruniaux, VP of Sales and Retail, left the Swiss watchmaker to join Apple.
My dad had worn this gold Omega De Ville for as long as I can remember. The story goes that somebody bought watches for my parents for their wedding. My mom didn't like the buyer, so she gave hers away. I imagine this means it dates from the late 60's. I remember my dad winding this watch every morning before he went to work. A few years ago, he stopped wearing this and went to a Suunto, I think because he couldn't manipulate the crown anymore, and he wanted a watch that was easier to read. The original bracelet, while being super cool, doesn't fit me and is not adjustable. It also has a good amount of wear and I don't know how fragile it is. I'm not sure it's something that could be fixed at an Omega repair center, nor do I think I would want them to.Anybody have any info on the watch, like age, movement? Or any ideas of what I could do with it? I took the bracelet off, the lug width is 14 mm, there aren't a lot of strap choices at that width. To put this on a NATO would seem
I had a chance to try on the new Titanium Blue Speedy today (with the 9300 movement), and I have to say that I was very impressed! It's a beautiful watch on the wrist, but I have to admit that I don't know much about it. Can anyone give me an education on the watch? Many thanks in advance!
