In the 1970s there were special chronographs called "Soccer Timers" with markings on the registers for counting the 45 minute halves of a match. What to buy? IWC Portuguese?
Hi everyone,I have been followng this site for a few weeks, and now this is my first posting.I have been really looking into buying an IWC Portuguese Auto-Chrono, the one with the white face and blue strap. However, I am now wondering if there is any other possible prospect that I am overlooking. What do you think?Anything better in the same price range? People are recommeding me now JLCs, Rolex Yacht-master plat and all kinds of stuff.So far, I have a Omega Seamaster GMT and Rolex SB 50th Anniversary, so I am looking for something more "dressy".Look forward to your comments, cheers!Guillermo

Omega Geneve Dynamic
HelloAfter getting some great advice and guidance on my Milsub 5513 on the Rolex Vintage forum I thought I'd nip over here regarding my Omega Geneve Dynamic.As with the 5513, the Omega belonged to my old man and it was passed to me when he died in 2008.We think it was purchased for his 30th birthday which would mean it was bought in 1976. As there's no day/date function I presume it's either the 1967-1974 model (165.0039) or the 1968-1971 (ST 135.0033). Other than that I can't find out much more and still haven't found any photos that match my example.Photos below, so as with the Milsub, any advice gratefully recieved!RegardsH

Forgot all about my Speedy, please forgive me....
I must confess I've been all about vintage Rolex sports models lately and mostly only wearing dive watches. I opened up my watch box and looked at my 3572.50 Speedy Pro today and thought its been a while since I even wound this thing, let alone worn it. So I took it out, rubbed some polywatch on the crystal, used a microfiber towel to wipe down the caseback and lugs and wound her up. After just taking a thorough look at it, glaring into the beautiful 1863 movement and remembering all the history behind it. I quickly fell back in love. I decided with the 3572.50 being discontinued and having both the perfect hesalite crystal and the sapphire caseback I plan on keeping this watch forever and a .321 will have to just join in. Well I hope you guys forgive my foolishness of forgetting about wearing this legendary watch, but know its already back in rotation. ~DavidMKII
