Three Jaeger-LeCoultre timepieces co-star with Robert Downey Jr. in the soon to be released Iron Man 2. In the film, Downey, playing billionaire inventor Tony Stark, sports the Jaeger-LeCoultre AMVOX 3 Tourbillion in Platinum, a Master Grand Tourbillon 1833, and a Reverso Grande 985. The film, based on the Marvel comics super hero Iron Man, reunites the Oscar-nominated Downey with director Jon Favreau. Gwyneth Paltrow reprises her role as Pepper Potts, and Don Cheadle co-stars as James “Rhodey” Rhodes. Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke, and Samuel L. Jackson also appear. As a vintage watch newbie I'd appreciate some advice. I recently received my first manual wind watch being a 1956 Seamaster cal 248 17j. The dealer in the US has told me that it was running, but has no service history. When fully wound it runs, keeping quite accurate time, but stops after about 15hrs. I imagined that a correctly running manual movement should run for at least 24hrs. If so, should I expect a simple service to correct the problem or should it be pulled down completely to get it working to correctly ?
the crown has been acting a bit funny. It feels a little loosey goosey and when i turn it, maybe its an optical illusion but it doesnt seem as if the knob rotates evenly...talked to another TRF'er would had similar concerns and told me to send it in since it could affect it's water resistance (and hence, void warranty should damage happen since I didn't take care of it).My Steelie Diver has been a Daily Wearer since I bought it last year in May. It's seen a few knicks and dings on the rather large bezel. The question now: do I let it keep collecting knicks and bumps? or do I get a fresh bezel put on now that I know how to wear it without ever bumping into anything? (I feel as if any of the cosmetic blemishes I induced onto the bezel were within the first month...after that I got used to compensating for how much real estate my watch takes up when walking and doing daily things)third year warranty extension also being done while it's there. Hopefully they give me one of those cool littl
