Sentinal, Vancott(?), Frankenstein!
I think I may have gotten my hands on a Sentinal Frankenstein from the bay ! Franky's not so scary really, this is actually fun! Plus, it was only $100. It was listed as a Sentinel with a 987S movement (#SS66142) and has an S&W, 10K gold filled case (#S811075). It looks exactly like photos of the Vancott:vintagewatch.info/Detail%...%20-%2010K.htmand hereHamilton of the Day: Vancott, except that the outer minute numbers are somewhat obstructed by the raised crystal (incorrect replacement), or, the case itself may be too small too . Something is off; I hope it's just the wrong shape of crystal. I'll know more after taking it to the AD next week for evaluation.So, assuming it only needs a proper crystal replacement, does anyone out there have one lying around gathering dust?Thanks!P.S. I went to their website, selected the winder I wanted, and made my PayPal payment via a link on their site.Well, come to find out, there was a problem with the link, and the payment went God knows where. It certainly didn't go to Luxury-Pak.When I contacted them (WTF user "Tracy") to let them know that the payment had been sent, and what address it was sent to, I was told that the address was not associated with Luxury-Pak, and that they received nothing from me.Imagine my dismay.Well, long story short: Luxury-Pak had reported five mis-directed payments to PayPal.
