New Omega...of the vintage kind.
While watching the Beijing Olympics and seeing all the Omega timing devices and then looking down at my PO or SMP, whichever one I happened to be wearing at the moment, and then after reading Omega's history with timekeeping for the Olympics, I decided it was time to make another purchase.However, this one would not be a watch that I could alternate with my others to wear for a day or two. Rather, I decided to add a special part of Omega's history to my family. I searched the usual places; Google, eBay, SC on various forums, etc. Well I finally found it a few days ago and got it earlier this week. It is from the 1960's and came with the original box and warranty book. Here it is:Can you guess what it is?A Rattrapante stopwatch.My PO next to it to give you a comparison of the thickness.And now the unveiling of the "engine".As I said it came with the original warranty book.It is a chronometer. For JPV - TAG HEUER Diver on rubber strap
JPV's comment in my 'back from service thread' about how the TAG would look on a rubber strap got me wondering. So, since TAG Heuer is not shy about using Seiko parts (), I thought, why not? Here it is on my Black Monster Z22 rubber strap:I think I will try to find a nice rubber strap for it, but perhaps not as wide at the lugs as the Seiko strap is (ie, not so tapered).Shayne.

Help with 1st PO purchase please!!!!
I currently own a IWC Portuguese Auto 5001-07 with the white dial and blue numbers and I am looking to buy more of a sport watch to add to my collection. I was debating between a Panerai and a Omega PO. I really like the look of the older style PO-2500 movement where the dial matches the bezel. I know the new style is ceramic and their in-house movement is excellent but I don't know if I love the matte finish on the bezel and it does not match the dial. I know that might seem crazy and maybe it will grow on me. So with that being said, i really like the idea of the titanium le however I am wondering if anyone knows if they will be coming out with a black version titanium next yr. I like the blue but I don't think I love it. Lastly, I am trying to decide between the 42 or 45mm and any advice would be much appreciated. I have over 7 1/2 inch wrists if that matters. I apologize for the long post but thanks in advance for any help on which model you would buy. I am also looking to rot

16610 - possible to swap clasp with gmt/explorer?
Just picked up a NOS 16610 earlier today. I'm loving it so far except for one thing - the clasp. It just seems big and clunky and sticks out too far for no reason (well I know the reason with the diver extension but who here has ever actually had a need for that). I was wondering if it was possible to take a oyster deployant clasp similar to that on my 16710 or on an Exp2 and replace this clunky clasp? Or would I need to replace the entire bracelet? And even if you could swap, is it possible to buy just the clasp?
