IWC IW325502 wrist watches news:
Hey all,I picked up a couple of vintage Omegas off of Ebay back in 2006 when I first got into watches. I didn't know much back then and really wasn't sure if what I was buying was real or fake. This is one that has sat in a drawer for several years. I popped the front off after a screw came loose, but then couldn't get the crystal back on and managed to bend the hour hand while it was in the drawer.I was thinking about sending it off to get serviced/restored, but didn't want to bother if people thought that it was a fake. Unfortunately, it's a single-piece case, which prevents me from checking out the movement/case numbers without removing the hands and crown. Here's a shot of the front, with the replacement plastic crystal removed (when on, you can't see the dial/case gap). I've looked at the different Omega vintage archives, but haven't seen a DeVille dial with the sub-second markers. Shot of the back ...My concern is that it is a real case, but fake dial, and therefore wouldn't be
This is the latest Hamilton model in my collection, believe it or not (a Boulton from the previous year 1949 perhaps doesn't even count, since it's a holdover pre-War design and movement caliber). The Raymon was one of Hamilton's earliest stainless steel models (was there another before 1950 besides the Lexington? And the WWII production models of course, but many of those were chrome-plated, I think), although there were soon to be many in their line-up. Most were like this one, with applied numerals, but I have seen one luminous dial/hands variation (on the 'Bay now, by the way). It's a cute little watch, about the same size as the Cushion, and of similar shape, but with retro-modern styling. I love the faceted bezel and the pseudo-"flexible" lugs.Okay, some pics...
Maybe just too much? a contradiction to Pateks understated elegance or just me as a newbie having romantic thoughts of what the brand portrayssteve
I just wanted to be the first non-Admin to post something here in the new board. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)WOOHOOO!!!!!!!
Reading through ABTW's article (for the second or third time) on the new Seamaster AT Master Co-Axial (.ablogtowatch/omega-se...watches-hands/), I cannot get over how impressive the new Master Co-Axial movements are and Omega's goal to bring these new movements to all of their watches (that have the in-house movements, of course) by 2016. Although 15,000 gauss anti-magnetic resistance isn't the the most useful feature, I think it is a step in the right direction in terms of bringing mechanical movements into the 21st century and definitely the right move for Omega. Does anybody else feel the same way? Honestly, I'm surprised that there isn't more talk about this. The thought of a Speedy 9300 Master Co-Axial just makes my mouth water. I am definitely looking forward to seeing what Omega comes out with in the next two years. Ok, enough of my rambling.
