IWC IW391009 wrist watches news:
Hamilton Watch Co., founded in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, began making watches for pilots shortly thereafter, in 1919. The brand’s new collection of pilots’ watches, called Khaki Pilot Pioneer Auto Chrono, bears the influence of its early aviation watches. WatchTime got a close-up look at the watches at the EAA Airventure in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, “the world’s greatest aviation celebration.”Hamilton watches have been a staple of aviation since the early 20th century, when they were used to time the first American airmail service, and by the 1930s had become the official watch of the TWA, Eastern, United, and Northwest commercial airlines. Hamilton was a partner in the first American coast to coast air services and, in the 1920s, its Hamilton 992 model made history as the watch worn by Admiral Byrd in his flights over the North and South Poles. In recent years, Hamilton became a timekeeping sponsor of the EAA AirVenture event ¡ª America’s largest ga
Nice watch.I dont think you will be dissapointed with it.I have had mine since 1987. It cost me ¡ê306 new.Mine has stainless steel bracelet and square luminus areas on it .I gather they are sought after watches nowadays and are rather expensive.I think ive had it serviced twice and am right in saying you have to look out for wear in the bracelet links...Enjoy!
Hey Sean, are you liking the new masthead photo? It's great how it takes top billing, isn't it?
I just got the April WatchTime, and found an interesting article. It's about a guy that has a vintage Radiomir, one of the original Italian navy watches, circa late 30s. It was his uncle's watch, given to him by his colleagues in Italy during the warI won't give it away, but it's a fantastic read if you're into the history of Panerai, or even if you just like a good story.Check it out. They probably have something on the web also, most magazines do anymore (I guess I'm more into the physical magazines).
OK, for most of you WISes, maybe is the right decision, but maybe for others won'tMy 3 year old daughter dropped some days ago my only digital camera (Canon Powershot S5 IS), and it simply got destroyed because it went down stairs Well, that was a good excuse to get a DSLR, but unfortunately too much expense in watches in the last two months (including new purchases and restorations) so, the DSLR should wait at least one more month...So, considering that anyway I will buy the DSLR, I thought that no need for another P&Sand the money that I took away for the new P&S purchase now is gone in watches (again )This, because I got a super duper deal, and I got (well will have them in my hands in two or three weeks) Seiko BM and OM with bracelet, from an online store (no need to remove non-sponsor link :D) both with box, international warranty and manual for $300 It was a deal hard to pass up, so I will not have digital camera for a while, but come on, who need pics I'm becoming the bi
