I was excited when my good friend, John Reardon (Senior Vice-President, Head of Christie¡¯s New York Watch Department), invited me to today¡¯s preview event. From past experience, I knew that I would have the chance to see and touch some of the world¡¯s finest timepieces which once again equates to a lot of Patek Philippes and Rolexes.While taking in the watches (more on that later) John introduced me to Aurel Bacs, the Head of Christie¡¯s International Watch Department. Best way of Sending in a Patek for service.
Im thinking about sending in my 5070 to the PSCI was wondering what would be the best method of sending it in to them?I cant send it through an AD as there is none anywere close to me. I of course would need to insure it, but Ive heard that the USPS insurance doesnt cover watches. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Roger

This watch has been a grail of mine since I first laid eyes upon it about a year and a half ago. I never thought I would lust after a Japanese watch, but Seiko really opened my eyes with their beautiful craftsmanship and exceptional value. For those who don't know, the Alpinist line has a long lineage dating back to the 1950s, and has always been designed with the outdoorsman in mind. The SARB017 is the last-generation Alpinist, since replaced by some newer designs that I don't particularly care for. The watch is water resistant to 200 meters and is powered by Seiko's in-house 6R15 movement.The watch arrived from Japan packed up nicely:The Chino Brothers always take care of their customers. I got a very nice special gift in my box:Outer Box:Inner box and manuals:The inner box isn't nearly the same quality as I've come to expect from domestic brands and the europeans. Golfing with automatic Panerai?
So ive been golfing with my rolex for years with no problems, what about automatic panerai's? Their movement seems louder and less refined, do they hold up as well to the stress?Anyone golfs with one?
