IWC IW3254-01 wrist watches news:
One year ago today, the world of horology lost its greatest designer - Gerald Genta.? Responsible for more iconic designs than any other man in the history of timepieces, his trademark aesthetics are ingrained in countless watches we see, and speak of every single day.In an incredibly detailed and revealing interview just published via Greek watch blog VeryImportantWatches, Mr. Genta opens up about his earliest days - when he was getting paid 15 CHF to sell designs to American brands and Swiss suppliers - to how he designed the Royal Oak in a single night.? He mentions many of his less well-known work, like that of his Cellini for Rolex, a limited edition Seiko, oh, and a digital watch for Timex that was made in a very limited run of just 30,000,000 watches.? The article is not available online, so you must download a PDF.? This is an article you need to read if you have an interest in 20th century watches, design, or Genta himself.? The Jazzmaster Rattrapante provides the perfect proof. This Split-second automatic chronograph brings a totally new dimension to the Hamilton collection with its exquisite Automatic movement. The series is limited to 365 pieces, with each watch representing one dayof the year. . . True to its French name, derived from the verb meaning ‘to recapture’,thisgives technology a totally mesmerizing quality - and a closer look is rewarded by the sight of « côtes de Genève » decoration and pearled platinum . . .Beyond the handsome exterior of the Hamilton Jazzmaster Rattrapante is a highly precise timepiece that integrates the functionality of two stopwatches. This is particularly useful for timing simultaneous actions that begin at the same time but have different durations, such as sporting events with several participants.Pic/Edited copy from Hamilton

So I will soon be posting an incoming thread and will finally be joining the AP club in about a week's time In the meantime I have gone into extreme AP WIS mode So I've been wondering about which parts of the steel ROs are made of precious metals or other exotic materialsAFAIK the bezel/case screws are made of white gold? How about hour markers? White gold as well, like Rolex?Movement rotor is made of 22K gold? Please correct/add as necessary
Good day all,So, some of you may have seen my post last week about considering replacing my SD43 with a BLNR as the SD43 is fairly heavy for a daily wearer. So, after that post last week I went to my local AD to put my name down for a BLNR, knowing that there was a list I was thinking I wouldn't have my hands on it for a good few months at least.Well...this morning I get a call, the AD has a BLNR for me! Was not expecting this at all, also in the short period between putting my name on the list for the BLNR and getting the call, I had decided that I could never part ways with the SD43!I also felt as though I could not pass on getting a BLNR for $8,550 out the door, particularly with the rumours about it being discontinued so now I have both the SD43 and BLNR to enjoy. I think I will keep the BLNR on ice for a little while though as mentally I was not ready for this purchase so soon (also the mrs will kill me if she finds out I have bought another Rolex so soon after buying my first one
