Longines Automatic Admiral five star
I purchased a Longines Automatic Admiral five star about 25 years ago. It runs fine, but I have never used it. Just recently I got it out and was trying to find it on the internet. I have not found another one that resembles it. I am wondering if it is authentic or maybe a less common model. It says on the back that it is 10 Karate gold filled. The watch has a striped reddish face place and it appears to have six diamond like objects. There are no numbers on the face plate itself but there are Roman numerals on the metal outside of the face. I have not taken the back cover off. It says to use 1100 wrench. This is my very first post. I hope that I have added the photo that I have correctly as an attachment. Has anyone seen a watch like this? Does anyone have any idea as to the value to a watch such as this?thanksWalt

Because that's exactly what I lack, and need to gain some.This may sound silly, but I need to stop just looking at watches I like. I don't want to end up with a collection that has multiple watches that look virtually the same. Fortunately that hasn't happened yet, but I've come close.It appears that a lot of vintage collectors like to focus on one brand, and a lot like to get a nice example of the various brands. I think I fall into the latter category, but I need to start being more conscious of whether the watch I'm looking at looks very much like one I already have, even if it is a different brand. What I'd like to end up with is a variety of brands and a variety of styles. I would rather duplicate a brand than a style. I don't see the point in buying a brand X that looks almost exactly like a brand Y that I already have.Does that make sense? I know I'm rambling again...

5119J or 5119G?
Hi guys,Which one of these 5119 would you choose and why? I hear that 5119J is in more demand. Is it simply because it is cheaper? Which one is more wearable? I do like 5119G very much but I am concerned that it might look too boring.Appreciate your response.
